Summary
Admittedly, it was not that bad during the day. There were plenty of warm little reading nooks with dedicated fireplaces to curl up by, and it was practically nothing for Gale to keep a few space heating spells going in the back of his mind while he focused on his work, but even he couldn’t hold concentration while he slept. As the sun set, a bitter cold started seeping into the tower, especially in Gale’s huge open floored bedroom with its massive floor-to-ceiling windows with their sweeping views of the harbor. The closer they got to the dead of winter, the more Astarion found himself waking up in the middle of the night achingly cold.

The man often lingered near the back, a wallflower amongst the thorns that was the PTO. How hadn't Astarion given him attention before.
Oh, yes. That's right. He was focused on preventing sticky hands from touching him.
A blush blossomed across the man's face. "Well, um, thank you. Usually compliments are directed towards my intelligence, not my appearance."
"What a pity." Astarion waved a hand, dismissing the comment. "Come to me anytime if you're looking to be buttered up, um…"
"Gale. My name's Gale." Gale offered a shy hand, waiting to shake Astarion's and after, pointing at his daughter. "And that's Penelope."

Looking down at himself he felt nauseated, his arms were no longer arms, but wings made from skin and elongated fingers. How absolutely disgusting. It took him a few seconds to register that despite being a spawn and not a full vampire, he’d apparently just changed into a bat. Which was great. Now he got to die as a flying rat instead.
After an incident with a monster hunter, Astarion finds himself considerably smaller, fluffier, and unwillingly dragged into being cared for by a lonely wizard, who has no idea he's just brought a vampire into his home.

She feels frozen in place for a moment, but when Emmrich tries again to explain to Taash exactly how much he isn't interested in her, the shame propels her to her feet and away from him, swiftly climbing the stairs opposite from where they're standing.
"Rook," Emmrich calls after her, his brow furrowed. "I haven't finished. You're still in pain."
She pauses, just below the top of the stairs. She can't meet his eye; her focus instead is on his hands, now resting on the back of the chair she'd just vacated. "I know how to deal with pain, Emmrich," she says, flatly. "It's fine."
Rook is used to not being wanted; it isn't surprising when Emmrich makes it clear he isn't interested, but it still hurts.

“I don’t want to hurt you. I want to protect you,” she said. It was safe to be vulnerable with Gale. She had touched into Gale’s heart as much as he had into hers in their nights together. She met his eyes. “‘I am yours,’ say the words.”
He didn't say it. He didn't need to. Slowly, he leaned forward and rested their foreheads together, his eyes looking into hers with deep affection. He kissed her, slow, chaste. She’d have hated this before, but now she sought it. She found joy in the little ways Gale shared his affection.
“Zhak vo’n ash duj,” Lae’zel breathed before another kiss.
Gale pulled back and whispered, “Source of my bruises.”
Her eyes widened.
“Tir’su grammar may prove a challenge,” Gale said with a chuckle. “But it’s nothing someone like me can’t handle.”

Lae'zel always had a curious mind, and Gale had the knowledge to sate her inquisitiveness be it about magic or what Faerûn held. After a dip into feeling the Weave, it was all downhill for Lae'zel as she slowly but surely fell for Gale. Watch as Lae'zel open up to being vulnerable while Gale adapt to her abrasive but straightforward nature throughout the story of the game.

It is only because he is so close that he notices the subtle stiffening. Gale’s jaw clenches, for a moment, as blood pinkens the tip of his ear, then rushes to his cheek and nose. It lingers and just as Astarion notices the quickening of Gale’s pulse, he speaks, “It was nothing; Haldark’s is barely out of my way.”
His voice is a touch too high and Astarion eyes him curiously, an idea niggling at the back of his mind.
“Still,” Astarion whispers, once again nosing along the line of Gale’s neck to find a soft place to kiss him. After lingering in it a moment, he pulls back to watch Gale’s face and finishes, “You are always so good for me.”
