Summary
A peaceful night of reading turns into something more when Leon comes home from a party.
“Ah, look who’s finally back.” Luis doesn’t bother to look up from his book. The only movement comes in the form of him pulling his blanket closer to himself. “How was the party?”
“Would’ve been better if you came with.” Leon admits, tapping the toe of his boot onto the mat. The snow already beginning to melt. “Other than that, it was fine.”
Luis only lets out a small hum as he hears Leon take off his shoes and coat. The world around the Spaniard slowly turning into a soft static. His eyes heavy lidded, thumb tapping against the page. He can’t be bothered to focus on anything else, that is - until the book is snatched from his hands.
“¡Oye!” Luis’s face shoots up. His brows furrowed, mouth slightly agape as his gaze fixated on the blonde. “What the hell!?”

Summary
What Leon learns when Luis suddenly gets a rescue monitor lizard is that he may be put off by harmless reptiles more than he had previously believed. It's a good thing that Luis is there to assist and defuse the situation.
Or: a headcanon about Luis owning reptiles got my brain buzzing and here's the result!

Summary
They escaped Spain, but only just barely. By the end of those somehow only two nights, it was only because the three of them; Leon, Ashley, and Luis, had taken turns carrying each other out. But they were out. And Ashley was saved. And… now no one knows what to do with the other two remaining survivors. With Leon compromised and Luis’s knowledge too valuable to lose, they’ve been shoved off, buried in a cabin somewhere, partially by sway of an especially thankful and powerful parent, assigned the very loose task to serve on standby: one to study bioweapon outbreaks and the other to serve detail should either need ever arrive. But the problem is, nestled in that little cabin tucked in the mountains, is that the need has yet arrive. A Leon/Luis domestic slow burn.

They walk to the door, and Luis turns to Leon one last time. Just like the previous time they were put in this position, Luis doesn’t say goodbye. Instead, he asks Leon for a final favor. “Keep me in your prayers?”
Leon’s throat tightens. He’s not religious anymore, not after everything he’s been through, but he can’t bring himself to tell Luis that. Not when he’s looking at him with such pleading eyes. He nods instead, forcing a small smile. “I’ll pray for you.”
OR
After meeting Luis, Leon quickly realizes just how big of an enemy his solitude has become.

Leon uncrossed his legs and tried to stamp down the pins and needles in his thighs. Ashley had finally succeeded in paying a visit to Luis this morning after her father had finally given her explicit permission to leave his sight. She had curled up in the same uncomfortable chair with her iPod mini clutched in her hands. Leon leaned against the wall and watched as she fiddled with the stickers on the back of the sleek pink backing. Occasionally, she would mumble to herself, or maybe to Luis— in an effort to give her some space, Leon was too far away to be able to tell. Before she left, she pressed a Pompompurin sticker to his forehead. The yellow dog was bent over, looking between his legs at the beret that had tumbled off of his head.
Leon chuckled. "Pompompurin?"
"Yeah." Ashley smiled. "How'd you know?"
