“My, my,” Alastor drawled, hoping Vox didn’t notice the waver in his voice. “Such violent devotion. I hope these aren’t just empty threats, my dear.”
Vox growled, the lights above them flickering violently as he slammed his free hand down onto the table on Alastor’s other side with a loud bang, caging him fully.
“Try me,” Vox snarled, “Seven fucking years, Alastor. You’re lucky I didn’t drag you back by force.”
Alastor hummed softly. “And why didn’t you?” He raised his hand, and slowly brought it up to Vox’s face. “You certainly had the means.”
The moment his finger’s brushed against Vox’s cheek, a cold metallic pressure cinched around Alastor’s throat.
A tight, glowing blue chain.
Or
Alastor accepted Vox’s proposal all those years ago, and Hell has never known peace since.

Summary
Vox has created a perfect, idealistic life for himself with Alastor. He has a loving husband, a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood, and a promising career as the local car dealership’s top salesman.
It’s everything he’s ever wanted. His own personal paradise, his heaven.
But none of it’s real. It’s all lies, hosted within a virtual reality simulation, and Vox refuses to come out, even at the risk of his own life.
Back in the real world, Velvette and Valentino are at their wits end trying to figure out a way to get Vox out of that damn VR machine. Eventually, Velvette realizes that Alastor is the only one who can reach Vox inside the VR terminal.
Reluctantly offering his assistance in exchange for future favors, Alastor agrees to help get Vox out.
Little does he know, he’s in for one wild ride.

Alastor barely escapes certain death at the hands of Adam, but without his staff, he's lost the ability to channel his most deadly powers. The Vees notice his sudden weakness and seize the opportunity to rid themselves of their greatest competitor.
However, what was supposed to be a simple murder turns awry, and Alastor finds himself taken captive by an old friend, who subjects him to evils he's never faced before.

"I'm Merlin." The young warlock introduced himself, offering a hand.
"So, I don't know you." The blond supplied, his mouth tightening as he looked Merlin up and down. "Yet you called me friend." He finished, disdain dripping from his voice despite the arrogant smirk upon his lips. Merlin dropped his snubbed hand back to his side, almost trembling with a feeling he had not had to face since he was a child - the want to hit someone.
