Summary
I'm writing gratuitous whump because I wanted "The Magic Shop" by WhyNotFly to contain more content. Read their fic for this to make sense.
The Archivist is a millennia-old magic being who is also having a bad time. Martin is a 22-year-old office worker who is doing his best.
UPDATE: I started writing this while quarantining in my room with COVID. I stopped when my sniffles turned into long COVID. I had to start using a mobility aid and transitioned from receiving part-time care to having two full-time caregivers. For better and for worse, I'm a different person than I was when I started this project. I hope to return to it, but I'm not sure when I'll have it in me to do so. I so appreciate everyone's encouragement and support; writing has really helped me through this tough life transition!
