Summary
Buck's always known that Eddie was strong.
Knowing Eddie was strong and seeing it put on full display were two different things. Especially when strength was the entire point of this specific challenge.
Or, Eddie pulls a firetruck with his body and Buck nearly comes on the spot. God forbid he wants his strong best friend to slam him into a couple walls. Or better yet, into the mattress.

The only warning he gets is the catch in Eddie’s breath, before he bursts into tears, dropping his head to the table with an audible sound as sobs wrack his body.
“I’m sorry,” he sobs into his folded arms as Buck blinks in surprise.

Summary
Then, Eddie straightens up and turns around, and Buck revises his assessment, because the front is cropped too. Evenly, which means a person did this on purpose.
The express purpose being to ruin Buck’s day and possibly his life.
The shirt stops right under his ribs. His stomach is just — out, the whole deliciously muscular span of it.
“Hey,” Eddie says, a crooked, boyish grin splitting across his face, as if he isn’t standing in his own driveway basically naked. “Wasn’t expecting you.”
“I-I, uh, texted. You weren’t answering.”
“Phone’s inside.” Eddie tips his head at the engine. “She’s leaking somewhere. Been out here since this morning trying to find it.” He swipes the back of his wrist across his forehead, and the gesture pulls the hem up another half inch.
Which is how he ends up looking at the sweatpants again. And the sweatpants, it turns out, are keeping no secrets. There is nothing on under there.
So now he’s standing on Eddie’s front lawn, stone-cold sober, at four in the afternoon, looking at the unmistakable outline of his best friend going commando.
Neat.
Or: Eddie wears a crop top. Buck sucks his dick about it.

Summary
When Buck deems he’s finished with the application, he pulls back and skips a breath at Eddie’s freshly painted eyes.
Buck hadn’t really been paying attention to how Eddie looked, he was too focused on applying it neatly so he didn’t accidentally stab Eddie in the eye.
If Buck was entranced by Eddie’s normal eyes without makeup, Buck can’t even begin to describe the shellshock of seeing those eyes coated in mascara. And Buck, stupid Buck, who can’t hide his feelings, utters out a soft “Eddie,” with an equally gentle smile on his face.

Summary
“You were at the bar,” Eddie adds, confused and cold and not altogether convinced that this isn’t some sort of twisted mirage. Maybe he fell over on the way here, and is currently passed out in a random alleyway in downtown Nashville while Buck fucks a beautiful woman in a bar bathroom.
He wants to sink down to the floor with Buck, lean against the door with him until their bodies are pressed together from shoulder to foot, knock his boots against Buck’s just so he laughs and pokes at Eddie’s middle with gentle, teasing fingertips.
“I left,” Buck explains, unhelpfully.

Summary
How is Buck here?
“Eddie,” he says again, and it is his voice.
It’s his intonation, it’s his timbre, it’s the same way Eddie’s heard his name come from this mouth hundreds, thousands of times. The sound of it is a salve to his injuries, and it pulls a sob from deep within his chest.
His relief is short-lived, soon swept away by heartrending clarity, because he can’t be hearing this voice. He can’t be hearing it because Buck can’t be here. Buck is somewhere in the building, a few floors away from Eddie, who’s still suspended mid-air in an echoing shaft, stuck in-between.

Summary
"That is. Okay. Where do I start." Pushing off the counter — hands need to be free for this. "Number one. That is not how being secure in your sexuality works. Number two. That is the opposite of how it works. Number three. Most straight men who are secure in their sexuality do not, as a method of confirming this, seek out gay sex. That is— Eddie, that is gay. The thing you are describing is gay. The act of doing it is gay. There is no version of this where you end up more straight at the other end."
Eddie scoffs. "You don't know that."
"I do know that."
"You don't."
"Eddie, I am bi. I have personally conducted this experiment. The results are in."
Or,
Eddie asks Buck to fuck him to prove he's straight. Things go about as well as you'd think.Series

Summary
“Uh Buck, forgetting something?” Eddie throws out in a sarcastic tone, pointing towards the kitchen island.
Buck turns around and starts walking towards Eddie cautiously, with a confused tilt to his head and furrowed eyebrows. Once he reaches Eddie he kisses him softly on the forehead, moving back to raise an eyebrow in question. Did I get it?
Eddie immediately flushes red and makes a strange noise of confusion, causing everyone else to look up. “No, Buck. You’re forgetting to-”
All Eddie is trying to do, is to tell Buck that he is about to leave his phone. The one he insisted someone text him the group's order on. The one he is going to use to pay even though he went through the effort of going down to the locker room to grab his wallet, just to come back up to the loft to say goodbye.
But he’s cut off by Buck gently grabbing his face and kissing him again. This time on the lips.
Or Buck is going out to buy a pick me up for the team and when Eddie tries to remind him to bring his phone, Buck kissed him instead.

Summary
Eddie touches Buck a lot.
It’s a thing they do, has been for years, and it’s not a big deal. Eddie’s an affectionate guy. Side hugs and arm grabs and that move where Eddie steers him through doorways with a hand on his lower back.
All of which Buck has never spent any real time considering because it’s just Eddie, it’s just how he is. Eddie touches people and Buck just happens to be the person standing next to him most of the time, so it’s aimed at him most of the time. Proximity and frequency, that’s all. A coincidence.
They’re close. They always have been. So what?
All that being said, there is one thing Eddie doesn’t do.
Eddie doesn’t kiss Buck.
Or — didn’t. Past tense, until about thirty seconds ago, when Eddie leaned across their table at the diner they’re currently eating at and pressed his mouth to Buck’s cheek like the kiss was just another item on a list of things he was doing that afternoon.

Bobby shakes his head with a soft chuckle. “Buck, you are a handful.”
Yeah, he is, Eddie thinks and his eyes dart to where Buck’s chest is filling out the sinfully tight LAFD t-shirt and wants.
“Yeah, well, Eddie would know,” Buck says, his tone clearly aiming for casual but Eddie picks up on the bite in it.
The team turns their eyes to Eddie whose lips part in surprise and his eyes are darting between the team and Buck. “Yep. Sure is. Good thing I’ve got big hands.”

“I just—I don’t want to weird you out,” Buck admits.
“Read my mind,” Eddie whispers. “What am I thinking?”
Buck thinks. Eddie’s eyes are big and shiny, and he's keeping his eyes stuck right on Buck’s, like he's scared to look anywhere else. “I think you want me to kiss you,” Buck tries.
Eddie starts kissing Buck—in a friend way.

“S-say that again please,” His voice was shaky, almost as much as his hands.
“I don’t know how this is even possible, but Bobby is alive… This is not a joke, I spoke to him myself, Buck, he called 911. H-he was somehow buried alive, the doctors don’t know what happened, yet.”
With every word Maddie said it just got more absurd and he wasn’t sure if this was a dream or not. It might not be, considering he saw Eddie’s face drop as he heard the words coming from Buck’s phone.
“You have to get here, now!”, was the last thing she said before hanging up.
Both of them just stood still for a moment, not saying anything, not moving a single bit.

Summary
“Hey, where is Chris?” Buck mumbles, steadfastly ignoring the dig despite Eddie’s disarming smile.
Eddie raises a brow at him. “It’s noon, babe. He’s at school.”
“Babe?”
Josh snorts.
Eddie groans and throws his head in his hands. “I’m tired.” He flaps a hand at Josh and says weakly, “I’ve never hung out with both of you at the same time without the buffer of a group. Can’t code-switch like this.”
Buck frowns at him. Then he frowns at Josh, who ignores him and smiles into his coffee. “I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen you guys talk and you call each other babe?”
“What? You thought you were special?” Josh says, “I call everyone babe. I once accidentally called Captain Nash babe while trying to direct him to an injured caller.”
Buck would be eating that up if he weren’t distracted looking over at Eddie, who can’t seem to look him in the face. “You’ve never called me babe.”
“Just did,” Eddie mutters.
“By accident,” Buck huffs. “Bite me.”Or: Christopher was excellent practice for dealing with a sleepy Buck and drunk Josh, even the morning after, and Eddie needs a nap. And lots of kisses. (He gets both.)

Summary
Buck grins. “Sophia promised to teach me how to make tamales, so we need the kitchen.”
Sophia loves bossing Eddie around, he just assumed she would use him for any help she needed. That’s what they always do. But if she is teaching Buck how to make them…
That could really only mean one thing.
“Tamales?” he asks, hand shaking slightly as he takes a drink.
“Yeah!”
Eddie stares at Buck’s smile, at his beautiful, oblivious smile. So. This was Sophia’s endgame. She’s not just here to steal his best friend for herself. She’s here to steal his best friend for herself and marry him and live happily ever after while Eddie watches with a broken heart.
(or, Sophia is teaching Buck a recipe reserved for family. Eddie has a very normal reaction to this.)

Summary
The fire engine accident – and the viral footage of his rescue – made him an overnight hero, LA’s favorite firefighter with golden curls and dimples to die for. While Buck’s benched from active duty, the department’s PR team has a brilliant idea: let him host a feel-good radio show about “resilience, healing, and community.”
With nothing better to do, Buck becomes LA’s own personal Frasier.
The only difference? He’s terrible at it. Which somehow makes people love him more.
Then the calls start coming in. One voice in particular — warm, steady, and oddly familiar.
“Hi, uh, first-time caller, long-time listener. I could use some advice on… asking someone out.”
Buck laughs, gives his usual awkward pep talk, and moves on. Except “Eduardo from Los Angeles” keeps calling back. Each question gets a little more personal, a little more specific — about a friend who talks too much, loves too hard, and is completely oblivious to all of the advances he’s been making.
Everyone else figures it out long before Buck does.

In which Buck gives out love advice on his radio show — totally unaware of the fact that his repeat caller is Eddie, trying to figure out how to ask him out.

Summary
Buck has a secret.
He's the guy behind a wildly popular tiny cooking channel. A channel that he fuels through “borrowing” negligible amounts of ingredients from Eddie’s kitchen. He’s not proud of it, but what someone doesn't know won't hurt them, right?
Eddie has a problem.
He has a rat that’s been stealing ingredients from his kitchen. It’s smart and subtle in its takings, but he’s onto it and will catch it. Good thing he has a best friend, who he may or may not be in love with, to help.
An accidental identity reveal, a deeply committed “rat” bit, and a minor emergency later, two idiots who fall in love.
OR:
Buck has a miniature cooking channel no one knows about. Buck also has a bad habit of stealing ingredients from Eddie’s kitchen. Eddie thinks the missing ingredients are due to a rat, which he enlists Buck’s help to catch. Hijinks ensue.

“Buck,” he says, the breath pulling from him in a gasp.
Buck’s eyes snap to him, blown wide and wild. Just like Eddie, he freezes in his step for one lingering moment, one click of a clock’s hand to say: Oh, it’s you. There you are, before he’s moving again.
“Eddie,” Buck says. There’s a red med-bag swinging from his shoulder, the strap slipping further down his arm as he rushes forward. “Jesus– Eddie.”
“That’s me,” Eddie replies weakly, and promptly collapses into Buck’s chest.
