Summary
It was a bad deal, and Weiss knew it. If she “met the boss,” she’d either be working for them forever, or dead. They’d never let her leave. Then again, she wasn’t leaving here, either, and she couldn’t keep this up forever. If these two had found her, Winter would find her, too. Eventually. And then she’d be carted off to be put on display at some sham trial and locked up in another gilded cage, probably given drugs to fix her and make her docile. Her life was over, either way. Only one path had any chance at any sort of agency ever again.
And then there was the simple, irredeemable fact that Jacques Schnee was dead, and Weiss was a murderer.
Weiss let her glyph drop, and shook Arthur’s hand.

Or, What if the Gods were scared of Melinoe's power, saw her as a threat like Chronos or Typhon, and decided they'd get the jump on the gun and prevent her from causing them danger? And what if, in doing this, doomed themselves to a threat worse than either of their previous foes?
