“What’s up with you and Heeseung?”
It takes everything in Sunghoon to prevent himself from inhaling his hot chocolate and choking to death.
It’s Jay, and he’s parked himself next to Sunghoon on the couch, where he was texting Jungwon what he wanted from the store, where all the others had flocked in order to rid their feeling of boredom.
“What are you implying?”

If he hadn’t run away, would things have gotten the chance to change? He lingers on this thought longer than the others, his fingers tapping a steady rhythm against the floorboard beneath his head. It’s the same tune they’d sing on the porch when days went by slowly.
If things had changed, how much could that have accomplished, really? They could welcome Sunghoon in, treat him the same way, but they could only get so far. The moon would rise and Sunghoon’s body would ache. The carnal need to feast would turn into the pained desire to hunt. Eventually something would have to give, wouldn’t it?
But it’s that— that small scintilla of doubt— that keeps his fingers tapping.

"I think all of us can agree that you two are acting a little too questionable for platonic comfort."
Sunghoon balks, and in his state of panic burns his tongue over the ramyeon. Heeseung stiffens beside him. "I'm not sure what you mean." His voice is guarding, defensive.
Jay scoffs, and sends a look over to Jungwon, who purses his lips. "What we're trying to say," Jungwon ventures, "is that you guys need to come clean about your...feelings."
Sunghoon swallows hard around a stinging mouthful of broth. "There aren't any 'feelings'." He looks back at Heeseung, who nods sagely, face unreadable. "What he said." And Sunghoon feels the ramyeon churn uncomfortably in his stomach.
It wasn't like Sunghoon didn't notice that he held Heeseung in a completely different light than the others. Sure, the excessive physical contact was skeptical to some, the late night talks out of the ordinary, the constant want to be encompassed by each other's lives a little much for the rest of the members to comprehend. He simply refused to look too close into it, because there was nothing to look at. They were just really good friends.

Sunghoon laughs, making his nth coffee of the day. "Technically Jungwon is only 2 years younger than us."
"Well, Ni-ki's 3 years younger than us!"
Sunghoon laughs again, walking over and patting Jay on the back, before sitting down next to him. Sunoo, who's sitting across the two of them, grins, "I can't believe you're taking this worse than Heeseung Hyung and Jake Hyung, like, their kids are dating each other."
"Heeseung cried," Sunghoon adds, "I wouldn't call that taking it well."
"At least he's not still panicking over it at breakfast," Sunoo says, jabbing a fork in Jay's direction.
"That's 'cause he doesn't wake up before 11 on off days and right now it's 8:30."
Jay just groans, loudly enough for Sunghoon and Sunoo to both stop bickering and shoot the older worried looks. "Jay," Sunghoon says, soft and taunting all at once in a way that only Park Sunghoon can pull off. "You good?" He asks through a giggle, and Jay wills the butterflies out of his stomach because for fuck's sake there are more important issues at hand right now!
a.k.a Jungwon and Ni-ki announce that they're dating and Jay has a quarter-life crisis.

It's like Jake's reliving his personal MBC soap opera rerun he watches whenever he visits Seoul and there's nothing to do, except that the pining feels like it's lasting for more than 120 episodes.

Hesitantly followed Jeongin for a spontaneous night out and pretended he enjoyed letting the night take them wherever. It had hurt. It had hurt that their interests never aligned the way he so desperately hoped they would. Seungmin had never changed, never decided he wanted to stay by Jeongin’s side as he explored the wonders of the world. Seungmin was a boulder, tied to the earth, and Jeongin was a leaf ready to let the wind carry him anywhere but there.
He’d left his phone on the bedside table the night he disappeared. He didn’t need it where he was going.-
Jeongin abandoned the man who loved him to chase adventure. After all, regret is an emotion easy to flee.
