Bob settles in to life at The Watchtower. He’s not all better, and the threat of The Sentry and The Void linger in the back of his mind. Yelena hovers, Ava phases through walls on a whim, and Walker makes breakfast.
Then, a pair of armed men shatter the illusion of safety Bob has created around his new home, and he’s forced to choose between once again becoming a mad scientist’s lab rat or putting trust in not only his team but also himself to make it back home.

But he’s fine. He doesn’t have any other choice; he’s made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. He’s fine.
And then Eddie Munson walks back into his life, and Steve is forced to confront all the decisions he made for real this time.

When Steve was six years old, he told his mother he wanted to fly. When he was twenty, he learned what that really meant.
This is a reimagining of the end of Season 4 Vol 2 because I wanted to see a little bit of a happy ending in there. Alternative title: Steve Harrington’s Big Gay Crisis

Summary
Richie only ever wanted to be loved. He thought he’d do anything to hang on to that feeling. Then he crawls out his bathroom window and realizes he’s been looking in the wrong place the whole time.

Summary
“Hey, Cassie. It’s Frank,”
Cassie scrambled to pause it. Her mobile felt like a megaphone and the crackly speaker sounded like it was shouting a secret. She glanced around, wondering if the entire ER had heard the worry broadcasting through her phone, and noted that the only one alarmed by this development was her.
She toggled off the speaker, restarted the message, and raised the phone to her ear.
Or when McKay says “Call me if you need anything”, he does.

Summary
Things weren't supposed to go this badly.
When Maverick is shot down protecting Rooster, Phoenix tries in vain to stop Bradshaw from going after him. Rooster disobeys orders and goes off on his own to save Maverick, pushing Phoenix to lead the team home by herself.
That is easier said than done with two Bandits on their tail. While trying to give the team a chance to get away Dagger Three suffers a fatal blow, forcing Phoenix and Bob to eject and abandon the aircraft.
Battered, bruised, and stuck in enemy territory, Phoenix must keep herself and an injured Bob safe until they can be rescued. But again, that is easier said than done. Surviving a violent ejection itself was no small miracle, but the two aren't out of the woods yet.
Before the night is over, they'll have to deal with a number of challenges - from the dangers of a hostile environment to the far more terrifying concept of emotional vulnerability.

Summary
“Are you happy with yourself?” Nat asked. “You’ve made him into a circus attraction.”
“Kinda,” Rooster laughed, crossing his arms. “It's his fault for falling asleep out here. Hey, who's got a sharpie?”
“Okay–” Nat huffed, setting her hands on her hips.
“I'm kidding, I'm kidding!”
“Floyd!” she said, her voice loud and assertive, and Bob jerked awake immediately, knocking his book off of his lap.
“Huh?” he breathed, lifting his head off of the back of the armchair. Fanboy snatched Bob's wallet back from Harvard, tucking it under his leg hastily. Halo took a step back from where she was leaned over peering at his book, but she knocked her shin into the coffee table and swore. Rooster clasped his hands behind his back and tucked the twenties into his pocket, making his best attempt at a poker face, but he knew he was failing miserably. And Hangman, thank fuck, finally muted his stupid phone and looked up in earnest.
“That woke him up,” Payback said under his breath
“That'd wake any of us up,” Fanboy replied, nervously glancing at Nat. “Was she a drill sergeant in a past life?”
***
Or, five times the daggers wake Bob up, and one time they can't get him to sleep.
