“Watchers?” Gem asks, a curious lilt to her voice.
“They’re a powerful- and incredibly dangerous -group. They have ties throughout all of the UK; in the government, the economy, law enforcement, etc.” Martyn explains.
“They want complete control over the country, and they’re on track to get it.” Joel adds. “I doubt they’ll stop at just the UK, either. I wouldn’t be surprised if their goals were eventually worldwide.”
“Also-” Grian hesitates for a second. “They know about us: people with abilities.” he leans in, a grave look on his face. “And they want us dead.”

=18 people who were unfortunate enough to die young, but lucky enough to not stay that way. Except, they came back with some… New abilities. They found each other and formed a team, fighting against the most powerful group in the country. But everything changes when one of their own gets captured, and uncovers the Watchers’ biggest secret.

“Why don’t you tell me things?” Scar whispers. He leans forward and presses a kiss to the bridge of his nose, below-between his eyebrows, gentle.
“We’re - Scar, we’re in public.”
“Everyone is in class.”
“We’re not,”“Well, we’re special, aren’t we?” he murmurs, corners of his mouth quirking upwards. “Romeo and Juliet.”
“We’re not them,” Grian mutters, and it comes out bitter. Scar hums. He kisses his jaw. “And what happens if someone sees us?”
“We tell them it’s just method,” Scar says. His eyes are piercing. “Isn’t it?”

Grian thinks there might be something seriously wrong with this college play - Romeo and Juliet - and that it might even be connected to those strange visions that keep getting worse. And really, he needs to stop sneaking around with his Juliet, Scar Goodtimes, because people are going to find out about their… situation, if he isn’t more careful. And he really, really doesn’t want that. Especially not when Taurtis is in the play as well.

FIXED AUDIO QUALITY yippee
Despite it being over four years since the death of Hotguy, Scar still lives day-to-day with the damage from the incident, unable to work through the trauma from the systemic abuse of the hero committee due to his glorification of his Hotguy days. Cub, his manager and best friend, reaches out to a ghostwriter to help Scar publish a book about Hotguy and the failings of hero culture.
The ghostwriter, Grian, has been running from a painful past for the last few years, hiding himself and spinning his life into one of medial routines in a desperate attempt to feel normal again.
Perhaps together they can help solve each other's traumatic past-identity deaths.~

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Grian is a vet. After a chance encounter in the dead of night, during which he accidentally saves a villain from the brink of death, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a world beyond anything he could've ever imagined.
