"I'll get you another cup." Lan Zhan rises smoothly from the table.
"No, wait, hang on." Wei Ying grabs his wrist before he can take the cup and Lan Zhan freezes up, staring down at where Wei Ying is hanging on to him. "Fuck, sorry, I'll—" Wei Ying hastily lets go of his wrist. "Sorry, I—what did you mean?"
"I can pretend to date you," Lan Zhan says. "You take it with cream and sugar, correct?"

Summary
The first one Eliot sees is on the throne room floor. He furrows his brow, bends over and picks up the bright yellow post-it note ambiguously thrown to the floor. Part of him wonders how it got here because post-it notes don’t exist in Fillory, or at least, not that he’s aware. But another part figures Quentin dropped it sometime before Magic disappeared, and it’d somehow been swept through the castle to find itself to him. The theory seems even more valid when he unfolds the crumpled ball, and reads, in Quentin’s handwriting,
There has to be a solution.
He checks to make sure there’s nobody else in the throne room before silently slipping the post-it in his back pocket and heading down the hall.

Summary
It's not that she doesn't see it coming. It's just that its so fluid, and natural, that it kind of hits her long after it's happened.
It all started when Eliot got assigned to get a first year to his entrance exam. Kid was late, but he was cute, and Eliot had nothing but good things to say. Well, on Eliot and Margos terms of good - it probably wouldn't be seen the same way if he'd said any of it to someone else. Not that he would have, it's always been just them. They don't confide in, or really bother getting close to anyone.
It's Margo and Eliot and nobody needs to understand their language.
But of course she insists on meeting this new kid. She assumes that it's just another flavor of the month crush that he'll get over in no time, but that's where her first mistake was, isn't it? Because Quentin is so damn likeable, and somehow just broken enough, to get along perfectly with them.

Summary
Eliot expects a lot of things to happen when he opens his eyes. He expects Quentin to be freaking out, but too much himself to risk waking either Eliot or Margo by running out of the room. Or for Quentin to be gone, and this warm, Quentin like shape under his arm to just be a pillow spelled to keep him from waking up. He expects a lot of things, none of them pleasant.
Well, none of them pleasant for him.
Which is why he keeps his eyes closed. He feels Margo pressed up against his back, all soft warmth, so different from when she’s awake. Her hair whisks against his back as they both breathe, and it’s nice. But the warmth in front of him, the warmth radiating beneath his arm, is all he can focus on. Every breath is a little shock through his body, electrifying and brilliant, and more than he ever thought this would be like.

Villanelle is dead but not really. Eve is broke and furious. Villanelle speaks a lot of Russian for unfathomable reasons as she canonically hates it and refuses to speak Russian unless compelled. But this is oddly charming and enjoyable, much like villanelle herself, and worth a read.
(I just skip over the Russian phrases - if they were important, the translation would be right after in text, not stuck at the end of the chapter.)

Pretend this is set in a small town in rural England (or apparently Australia) and the rampant Britishisms won’t be as jarring. (It’s not hard to get those edited out, people. Americans have been doing it in HP fic for years.)
