Shen Qingqiu felt the exact moment when his heart stopped beating and when the world stopped breathing.
Luo Binghe’s face, his precious white lotus’s face, grinned down at him.
His blood pressure rose steadily.
“You motherfucking useless piece of horse shit,” Shen Qingqiu snarled, jabbing a finger in the SYSTEM’s direction. “Why the fucking hell are you using his face?! Change it!”
The SYSTEM eyed the offending finger with nothing but pure amusement. The smug grin grew into a warm smile as it? He? Replied, “Long time no see, Esteemed Host.”
(In the midst of Luo Binghe still marinating in the Abyss, Shen Qingqiu’s SYSTEM accidentally manifested on the physical plane as Bingzu. And only Shen Qingqiu could see him.)

Between them, my unfed soul flies over a road that even in my dreams is blocked at every mountain pass. All these years, I have dreamed of being by your side again. It is the only thing that kept this unworthy disciple going - not the promise of power and riches beyond mortal imagination.
I shall return to you soon with the glory and status befitting your name as my master. In this way, I can protect you from the rumors and scandal of taking in a demon as a disciple.

Summary
Lan Xichen squeezes his arm once and lets go. Lan Wangji tries not to miss the warmth as the man continues, “Do not worry, Wangji. We have invited Young Master Wei and I am sure that he can help us break the curse. If there is anyone in the world whom I trust to do it, it is him.”
All of a sudden, recognition sparks at the surname. It catches him off guard, after everything that happened in the short span of time, the familiarity in the name grips him with hope. Lan Xichen stood and Lan Wangji raises his head and speaks, almost without thinking, “Wait.”
The smile on Lan Xichen’s face falters. “What is the matter?”
“Young Master Wei,” Lan Wangji repeats even though the words do not fit his mouth right. It feels wrong even though he does not know why. He needs to know why. “What is his name?”
A night hunt leads to Lan Wangji forgetting everything except for his cultivation and his inexplicable connection to a person he cannot even remember - Wei Ying.
