At the eye of the storm sits a child, who looks up at the sound of Kurapika's approaching footsteps.
“Hey, I figured since you kidnapped me, anything in the kitchen was fair game.” The child grins and stuffs a handful of grapes into their mouth.
“...Did you make any coffee?” Kurapika has priorities, and they involve procuring a hot drink, Leorio’s current location, and the identity of the stranger in their home, in that order."

“What do you want to be called then,” Gerry says and wraps his arms around Michael’s back.
This conversation hurts. This question hurts. Everything hurts, so long as no one knows about his gender, so long as he has to go on being someone he’s not, someone he just can’t be anymore. He doesn’t know how much longer he can stand it.
“I dunnooooo,” he says, grinning, but inside he knows his name isn’t Michael. It’s just not. He doesn’t have a name. He never has. And it’s absence is like a hole in his chest.
The creature that might as well be called Michael, it supposes, if you have to call it anything, thinks about this conversation while it sits on the ceiling of its hallway and slowly digs grooves into the plaster with its fingers.

He scrubbed Dazai’s hair between his fingers until it squeaked before ripping a dish towel down from the hook beside the faucet and ruffling it through his hair. Dazai was still singing to himself and when a half-smile stole across his face Chuuya suddenly couldn’t help himself and he leaned down to kiss him full on the mouth.
Dazai’s lips were warm and wet under his, and Chuuya felt strength sing in his core as he cupped the sides of Dazai’s jaw to seal the moment in place. He lost himself in the sensation, in the push-pull between them made physical and real. He swallowed the sounds that crept up Dazai’s throat and wanted more.
