    Three messaged me over the feed. “The ComfortUnit needs help.”

    My human-imitation code cued me to blink. Three’s drone was creeping closer to my face. Three hadn’t initiated many conversations yet, so this was notable.

    I responded to its channel, “Yeah, but I don’t know if I’m the right one to help.”

    3.03 seconds passed. Then Three said, “I can help. I’ll go.”

    Sam squinted. “Okay, can you get out of the police officer’s skin? It feels weird.” Dean had to agree.

    Tempest sighed. “Fine.” He didn’t walk away or anything before he started to shed his skin. Dean slapped a hand across his eyes and then turned around. When all the squishy sounds stopped, he opened his eyes, now face to face with Spencer Reid.
