Summary

Will his emotions affect his job and can they find the ones responsible for the assassination attempt before it happens again?

Summary
There's a lot of expectation attached to Steve Rogers' name. It's taken him years to prove his own worth - that he's made it so far in the USNA on his own merit and not just because of his father. He's close though - there are only a few more months until he graduates and gets to stand on his own two feet. It's taken a lot of effort to get there, and a lot of sacrifices.
Bucky's beyond the point of expectation. When your father and grandfather have both been President - and your mother nurses political ambitions of her own - brilliance is a foregone conclusion. He's just counting down the final months of his confinement to the glass cage of the White House and he's determined to put that whole world behind him.
But as the days standing between them and their dreams dwindle, Steve comes to realize he might have made one sacrifice too many, and Bucky learns that his freedom comes at a cost he's never going to be able to pay.

The Soldier knew protocol. A failed mission meant punishment, then the Chair, then cryo. He had to go collect punishment, to ensure proper function on the next mission. It would be a risk, going back to the Vault. Insight had been compromised, communication was down. The Soldier did not know if the Vault was safe. The head hurt. He had been out of cryo too long. The words of the Captain on the helicarrier had damaged the neurological function. He would need the Chair to return to working condition. The Chair was in the Vault.

Summary
After a drunken brawl leaves a man dead, Steve Rogers is arrested and, on the advice of his lawyer, pleads guilty to manslaughter in hopes of a lesser sentence. Unfortunately, because of Steve's background and experience, he's given a sentence of five to ten years in a maximum-security prison.
Trapped in an endless sea of guilt and fear, Steve does whatever he can to survive this nightmare and not lose himself to the horrors and violence of prison life, especially the vicious abuse at the hands of cruel and sadistic prison guards.
The last thing Steve expects is to find a true connection with anyone, let alone fall in love. But there's something intriguing about his surly, miserable, mad-at-the-world bunkmate, Barnes, and whatever it is, it might be the key to both of them getting through this terrifying ordeal together.

Danarius is successful in capturing Fenris only months before the Chantry explosion in Kirkwall. Fenris is returned to Tevinter where his memory is lost and a Venatori plot results with red lyrium burning in his brands. But while Fenris might have forgotten his time in Kirkwall, Hawke has not. But as the Venatori move into the south, using Fenris in their plot, It will take years and support from the Inquisition in order to bring Fenris back to himself. That is, if there is anything left of him to save.
Extreme slow-burn with the promise of a hopeful ending.
