Summary
It's April of 1817 and with the War of 1812 behind him, Alfred must set his sights on further establishing himself as a nation both at home and abroad. An opportunity to affirm his presence to the European nations arises when he is sent, along with a fellow named Richard Keaton, on a diplomatic mission to London where he must learn to charm and rub shoulders with the notorious Regency-era society.
The task proves daunting when Alfred realizes he is very ill-equipped for such a task and runs into the very person he hoped to avoid during his stay: England. Between the glares of the ton and the confusing behavior of his former companion, Alfred must find a way to ensure his mission is a success.

Easier to face his back, the curve of his spine and delicate bumps of his vertebrae, rather than reminisce on how Nanami’s never seen him like this. In his sokutai, yes, resplendent in silks embellished with the newly founded Gojo clan’s crest, the last thing Nanami had seen before leaving Heian-kyo for a simpler life. In the light armor some shamans favored, too, worn more for form and style, to mark him as being on their side, spattered with blood that was not his own. In clothes tattered into shreds as he appeared in the midst of Nanami’s home, a wildly triumphant grin on his face and a prize in hand, too; and after that, clad in the hitatare they donned in an attempt at disguise.

Gojo only repeats himself. "What's your ideal date?"
Nanami chews at the pastry for longer than necessary. It has to be some kind of trap. "How is this relevant to the mission?" Gojo is still out of view but something tells him not to turn around, that this is a conversation he doesn't want to be having while looking at those eyes, the ones that would make Neptune seethe in jealousy.
He's always a bit weaker when faced with them.
"It's not."
"Then I don't need to answer?" The pastry is finished. Nanami looks down at the bag with regret.
"...I guess so." This should be the end of the conversation, Gojo's disappointment acting as a natural stopping point but he's never been one to keep his mouth shut. "Mine would be stargazing."
"That sounds awfully like something taken from a magazine."
"It was."
