Summary
Shanks, a man born to be king, lives as a Ranger of the North and one of the Dúnedain sworn to protect Middle Earth. His journeys take him far and wide to lands unforgiving, where fell creatures are as brutal as the climates are harsh. It is a thankless existence. Evil never sleeps and rangers are rarely afforded a moment's rest.
So, when Shanks receives a missive to find a missing wizard, he prepares for another long, arduous trial. However, as fate would have it, Shanks is not alone in his quest. Mihawk, an Elven Lord known for his reticence, accompanies Shanks on his foolhardy cause regardless of the ranger’s opinions on the matter. Perhaps it is not fate that throws them together, but a harken of change that will see them either stand fast together or tear apart.
Together, the two companions embark on a journey to challenge a resurging evil. Unfortunately, world saving quests are rarely so simple, and they are made especially difficult when Shanks toils more over his affections for the beautiful Elven Lord in his midst than any second coming of doom.
He is but a man at the end of the day, but when destiny and love begin to surmount, Shanks has to wonder if being just a man is enough.

“You’re recruiting this moron who tries to kill you several times a day and isn’t even smart enough to know that I can kill him with a thought?” Law scoffed. “Your standards are slipping.”
“We kept you, didn’t we?” Whitebeard laughed, not bothering to hide his amusement anymore. “Didn’t you stab Marco when he came back to collect you and Rosinante?”
“That doesn’t count. He’s a phoenix and I was fourteen,” Law replied. “This is a half naked arsonist with a knife and a cowboy hat.” -

Summary
“You’re lucky, Zoro,” she had spat, eyes turned up towards the sky, like she was trying to hold in tears. He'd never seen Kuina cry before. He’d never seen any expression on her face other than her teeth gritted in determination or her grinning in victory. “I want to be the greatest swordsman too. But girls grow up, and their bodies become weaker than men's. I’m never going to be the greatest.”
Kuina tells him this, and Zoro can barely comprehend the words she’s saying. He thinks of the countless hours he’s spent training by the river bed, the green locks of his hair left on the floor after Koushirou helped him shear it all off, of the people he thought of as family a lifetime ago calling him by a name he despised. Zoro puts a hand to his chest, where he’d hastily wrapped bandages earlier that day, remembering how his body had begun changing and he didn’t understand why-
“You’re lucky to have been born a man, Zoro,” Kuina finishes lamely.
Zoro sees red.

Summary
From the day Shanks encountered an Omega Swordsman gunning to be the best in the world, he knew there was no one on this earth more divine than that of Dracule Mihawk. The man is stunning in more ways than words could define, and he’s everything that Shanks wanted—or could ever want—in a mate, and yet where the alpha craves to have, where he craves to need, he refrains instead.
There are many reasons why Shanks shouldn’t get too greedy, but it doesn’t help when Mihawk is willing to give him everything and anything—even when Shanks is the least deserving of it. Still, Shanks loves, and perhaps that is enough. Perhaps, even in spite of all the reasons he shouldn’t, Shanks is allowed to have the very thing that he treasures the most: a certain omega with a sword as black as obsidian and a destiny as large as his own.

Summary
Accused of disregarding traditional royal customs, Mihawk, in order to appease his kingdom’s nosy councilmen and get them off his back, agrees to an ancient custom that requires all current rulers of Kurai to marry. Forced to choose several suitors permitted to try and ‘court’ for his hand in marriage, Mihawk determines the best he can hope for is a partner he can at least tolerate.
However, when a red-haired stranger presents himself as a potential suitor at the king’s reception, Mihawk is unable to resist the dashing elite. In a fit of impulsiveness, Mihawk agrees to allow Red-Haired Shanks, the notorious Red Emperor of the Sea, to court him. It is a reckless decision, but one Mihawk can’t bring himself to regret when everything about the enigmatic outlaw draws him in.

Part 1
Every pirate knows the smell of the sea. The rich salty taste in the air associated with freedom, a way of life. Not for Trafalgar Law. At least, not anymore. Now when Law looked out into the ocean, he felt like he was drowning.
-
Nothing could prepare Law for what would happen if he survived when he didn't think he would.Part 2
A lot of the time being a pirate meant going with the flow. There was a sort of freedom from letting the currents of the ocean guide one wherever they needed to go. The ease with which one could get swept up into it all gave those a taste of all that they desired. So really, Roronoa Zoro should have suspected even his feelings would be a lot like treading water. Because apparently water was more than just alive, it had a heart.
-
This is just how Zoro is. -

Summary
Zoro's resentment has become corrosive to his health, and Law can see it.
The doctor knows that there are very few things that can heal the wound left by unrequited love, but he works to undo Zoro's anger by showing him compassion and affirming his worth, just like Corazon once did for him.
