Sapnap stays quiet a moment, and while Dream sniffles, the little girl in his lap turns, taps against his face like the tears are common. Dream kisses at her hand, promises her he is okay. He acts like nothing is wrong. Like Sapnap isn’t crying in front of him too, when he should be scolding Dream.
“Why didn’t you?” Sapnap asks as he swipes the back of his hand over his nose. “I mean, not even George?”
The mention of their other friend brings Dream into a new reality. Soft, brown, messy hair on his screen, a grin that laughs and cheeks that turn rosy any time Dream teases him. A light squeal into his headset at the late hours of the night, once Dream is alone in his tranquility. George, the rough paper that sands Dream down. Warm, fluffy bread. Fuck, Dream thinks.
Dream decides to tell his friends about his daughter right before they move in.

George’s initial reaction is an irritated groan. Dream watches him make a show out of rubbing his temples, relaying the clear message that Dream is nothing but an intense headache. However, when Dream doesn’t respond with his usual snarky laugh, George’s hands fall to his sides in pure shock.
“Holy shit, you’re serious.”
“Well, not actually date, of course,” Dream hurriedly corrects in case George gets the wrong idea. “Fake date. That way I get my stupid parents to stop nagging me and you can make Sapnap jealous enough to come running back.”
In which Dream and George start a fake relationship but because they're enemies, nothing can possibly go wrong. Right?

How will Dream navigate the shifting dynamics between himself and his two closest friends? What about when new rivals, old friends, and his familial obligations are thrown into the mix? With tournaments, Technoblade, and the administration all standing between him and what he wants, how far will Dream go to protect those he cares about?
Fic is three parts, would advise reading First Year before this one, but I'm not your mom. I can't tell you what to do. Lol. SLOWBURN. Friends to lovers, and friendships are as real and important as the slash.
