"Martin, we can't-" he managed to blurt, bringing up a shaking hand between them.
"Do you want me to stop?" Martin asked quietly, his eyes searching Jon's face. Jon could feel the heat from Martin's breath against his lips as he spoke the words.
This was his chance, the chance he had been waiting for. All he had to do was take a single step back. Just one. All he had to do was say, Yes. Yes, this needs to stop.
"No," Jon whispered.

Jon and Martin start a secret situationship in season 3 and keep kissing in the elevator because they're idiots and think that it's the only place where no one will see them.

It's not like Martin's feelings for Jon were anything new, but they were safe as long as he knew that Jon would never feel the same way about him. Unrequited love was supposed to be poetic, with him aesthetically reciting his yearnings to a tape recorder. It wasn't something he had to do anything about.
Then Jon had to muck it all up by kissing him, of all things. Now it was something they were going to have to talk about. Now his feelings were no longer abstract and artistic, they were a fire that roiled inside him, burning him alive. Consuming his ability to think about literally anything else.

“I wanted to,” Jon murmurs back. “You made dinner, it’s only fair.”
He can feel Martin’s smile as he says, “Well, thank you, sweetheart, you didn’t have to do that,” and leans down to kiss the back of his neck.

Tim's heavenly hands are in his hair, stroking at the base of his skull when his voice brightens against the honeysweet lamplight. "Tell you what — how about you tell me all your insecurities and I'll make you feel better about them, yeah?"
Martin scrunches his nose as though Tim's just suggested he venture into the garden to find a big juicy slug to snack on, unable to stomach the potential for such personal ammunition. "I mean… I don't know, just… promise that, even if we end on bad terms, you wouldn't use it against me."
"Martin," Tim places a hand over his own heart, and despite the theatrics, Martin knows he's sincere. "You could cheat on me and burn my house down, and I'll come after your character, not your stretch marks. Okay?"
Martin has low self-esteem. Tim kisses it better.

No. There is no possible way that Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London, called Martin into the office to flirt with him under the guise of disciplinary action. This is- this is workplace harassment! This has stuck its foot out and Martin has tripped, tumbling head over heels in love with the grouchy little salt-and-pepper-haired shortarse in front of him, who looks rather pleased with himself. Bastard.
Jon calls Martin into the office just to kiss him and give him a hickey. Martin is suitably flustered.

Martin doesn't move closer, simply holding Jon by the waist with his drink in hand.
“I dunno, I think you're doing really well.” He flashes Jon a smile, the recessed lights overhead glinting across sharp incisors. Certainly new additions, but somehow they still suit him. They're almost cute.
Still, Jon's throat grows tight at the sight of them, conjuring images that he isn't entirely sure are all his own. He hasn't been sure of a good many things as of late.
