"I fucking told you to stop walking away," Keith growled, his face contorted into a scowl, only inches away from his. Strong thighs bracketed his hips, and he could see Keith's hand where it lay by his head, fist closed and clutching the sand like he could melt it into glass.
He swallowed, mouth suddenly dry, so dry, and it had nothing to do with the sand, or the heat- just Keith. Images that should not have been in his mind in this situation suddenly swarmed his thoughts, as he stared unabashedly at the pair of lips he'd wanted to kiss since day one. The pair of lips currently twisted, and accompanied by a glare that would've warned a saner man away.
Lance wanted to kiss Keith so bad it hurt.

Nico lunges towards Percy, his hands flying to try to get his phone, but Percy just puts his hand against Nico’s face and holds the phone in his other arm higher. He squints at the screen and reads, “‘You look cuter in it anyway?’ Oh, Nico, is this that blond guy you were making out with the last time we went to a party?”
Nico licks Percy’s palm in an attempt to make him stop pushing back, and it works; Percy cries out in disgust and wipes his jeans, giving Nico an irritated look. “Shithead,” he grumbles.
Nico takes his phone back from Percy and raises an eyebrow. As he unlocks his phone and taps into the Messages app, he says, “If you must know, then yes, it’s him.”
Jason leans in, the humiliated flush in his cheeks gone and replaced by his own look of excitement. “Oooh, he was cute. In a preppy rich white boy way.”
Percy gives Jason a pointed look. “Hate to be the one to tell you this, Jason, but you’re a preppy rich white boy.”

“Do you - uh, do you really have a butterfly tramp stamp?” Keith asks.
Lance pouts at him. “No one respects me here,” he says dramatically, flopping back into the floor. Pidge looks at him with a raised brow.
“Uh, duh,” she teases, “What’s next? You gonna tell us about your belly button piercing?”
There is a very loaded silence from Lance, in lieu of the rolled eyes and adamant 'no' everyone's expecting. Allura starts giggling.
“No,” she wheezes, struggling to push the words through her laughter, “You do not have a belly button piercing and a tramp stamp, gods above-”
Lance is slowly turning redder and redder. Hunk looks positively gleeful. Pidge gapes at him, again.
“I was joking!” she exclaims. “Lance, you slut! What would your mother say?”
The next second happens so fast Shiro barely registers it: Lance is off the floor and pinning Pidge to the couch at what seems to be speed of light, he moved so quickly.
“You cannot tell my mother!" he screeches.

[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]

An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.

Zuko doesn’t have time to deal with pressure for an arranged marriage, especially since he isn’t even sure he likes women that way. (A realisation that has absolutely nothing to do with Ambassador Sokka - shut up, Suki.) Katara and Aang have broken up again, and the Northern Water Tribe are pushing for a match between the North and South.
Which leads Zuko and Katara to develop a genius, foolproof, only slightly drunken plan: they can pretend to date for the length of Katara’s stay in the palace, giving them both a brief reprieve from political pressures on their love lives.
