It wasn’t necessarily always Techno’s fault however, he hadn’t built a resistance against Michael’s puppy dog eyes yet. The little one stared up at Techno with the most gushy look and petite smile the man had ever seen. Not to mention the little happy oinks, flappy hands, and vigorous tail wags Michael did whenever his heart had caught on something. Techno absolutely did not find it adorable or endearing in any way, nor did he feel the urge to race to the ends of the earth and among the stars to give the young one everything he could possibly desire. There was nothing about the child that prompted Techno to shower him in the luxury of kings; not his precious laugh, not his infectious smile, not his affection worth more than all the riches in the world. No, the gestures were simply out of the pure goodness and selflessness of the Blood God’s heart, Techno decided."

Techno begrudgingly stepped down, opened the door an inch, and peaked out to see if it was another army trying to viciously execute him because he would need to inform them he would take a few minutes to get ready. Surprisingly, it was the far more likely outcome of his two-toned next door neighbor. Genuinely surprising however, was the little zombified Piglin child shifting uncomfortably in Ranboo’s arms."

Summary
“Kid-” Techno watches the boy’s head snap over. Why is he doing this? He has a good thing going here- the blood god is fed and Techno doesn’t have to feel guilt- yet he’s risking it all for a kid he just met. But the way he’s staring at him as if he’s handed him the world consumes Techno with the overwhelming feeling that he had to fix this.
He had to save this kid. He refused to be a puppet any longer.
“Do you want to escape with me?”
For years, Techno has accepted that his fate as a mindless puppet for the Blood God would be an endless one, with little to no hope in sight for him. However, after a chance encounter with a skittish enderman hybrid that hits a little too close to home, Techno finds himself risking the monotony of his life for a chance at something new.
