Summary

The two of them contribute to the growing population of students who cause chaos across campus grounds, and the dorms are not safe either. Accustomed to their setup filled with bickering and arguments, Daniela never really thought their dynamic could turn into anything other than a bantering duo.
Still, as the new semester begins, Daniela finds herself in a sea of never-ending situations that involve Sophia, no matter how hard she tries to keep her university life peaceful. There is just something with Sophia's mocking smirk and cocky look that makes Daniela's blood boil.

Lottie doesn’t do a thing to hold back her magnificent smile, and it takes Nat’s breath away. “Bye, Nat.”
The exchange is stretching out longer than it needs to, Natalie can feel awkwardness seeping into the dingy tile beneath her feet, but she still lets her breath out a moment longer before she speaks. “Bye, Charlotte.”

“Kill me?!” Jackie exclaims, eyes practically bugging out of her head. “Kill yourself, Natalie, this is your fault! If you just left shit alone and waited ‘til tomorrow to lezz out over Lottie fucking Matthews, then none of this would’ve even happened! Now, we’re both fucked, you asshole!”
“Don’t fucking talk to her like that,” Lottie says, voice dropping into a tone Nat’s never quite heard it before– and she’s pushing Jackie away from her, and fuck.
“Listen to me, you three have ten seconds to tell me what the fuck is going on,” Tai steps in fully, now, that stern look crossing her face as she glances between the three of them.
“You wanna explain yourself, Jackie?” Lottie spits out, “It's your modern art piece, 'written from the male perspective'.”
“...Nat and I decided to… make a conceptual board of the queer teenage girl experience, as told through metaphorical and conceptual entries about crash-outs relating to homoerotic friendships. It's, of course, all completely fake, none of it is real–”

“Natalie, what the hell was that all about?!” Jackie’s voice comes out shrill as she opens the screen door. She stops and stares at Lottie, freezing at the familiar red eyes. “Why the fuck is there a vampire here?”
“That’s…” Nat glances over her shoulder to stare at Lottie. The brunette towers over her, but she looks about as scary as a Doberman puppy. “That’s Lottie.”
“Perfect,” Jackie replies with an extra edge of faux-sweetness to her tone. “Why the fuck is there a Lottie here?”

Summary
In the aftermath, Lottie had wondered if Nat would just cut and run. Ghost everyone and drop off the face of the earth rather than willingly stay anywhere near Lottie’s orbit. Lottie’s the one who walked away, after all, and they share too many of the same friends and bars and cafés to allow for a clean and easy separation. She wouldn’t blame Nat for doing so.
Nat doesn’t run though, as it turns out. But she does avoid Lottie.
