Another wet, sticky smack to the face is all Kiryu gets before Majima springs away into the crowded streets, lost instantly in the crush of people. They move around Kiryu, parting like water to avoid the man in the ruined suit with blood all over his face. He doesn’t blame them. He’s sure he’s a sight to behold at that moment.
At least, he thinks as Majima leaves, someone is happy to see him.

It's a long story but here's the quick and dirty version: they have to convince pretty much the whole-ass Kamurocho criminal underworld they're in love and other than two very specific people nobody, absolutely fucking nobody, can know it’s just a bit till the job is done.
You want the long version, including the part where this whole dumb stunt was Majima’s idea? Kiryu kind of insists that it be made real nice and clear that this was, in fact, Majima’s stupid idea and he just went along with it because he didn’t know what the hell else to try. Which, y’know. Fair enough.
[In which Majima and Kiryu pretend to be a Thing for family business reasons. With these two, this is easier said than done.]
