Sometimes things you know to be true aren't, and sometimes things you swore you never knew are. Or, another time loop AU but this time Kokichi doesn't get the benefit of remembering what happened.

An AU I made with Bby, onionstories, where Bakugou and Shinsou were adopted by Aizawa in their first year at UA. Bakgou was taken in a week or two after the Sports Festival, after an emergency investigation Aizawa was doing unveiled a history of abuse from his mom. Shinsou was adopted shortly before the dorms were implemented, after Aizawa wrapped up a second, longer investigation involving Shinsou's parents' severe neglect of him.

And, oh, Rantaro's so close, is the thing. His smile really is so handsome, and the crinkles in the corners of his eyes really do look so charming. But Kokichi can see what other people can't: he can see the strings pulling up the corners of Rantaro's mouth, the threaded hooks pulling his eyes into the perfect facsimile of genuine friendliness. It's so close to normal, but the sliver of a gap between Rantaro and normal upsets the whole thing, like a single hair ruins a whole bowl of soup.
Kokichi's fascinated. He needs to study this man.
