Izuku knows that he doesn't have the healthiest sense of self-worth. Or the healthiest coping mechanisms. Which is probably why he finds himself staring at the stars, arms against the roof railings, and wondering if he deserves what he has at three in the morning.
Aizawa knows that his Problem Child doesn't have an ounce of self-preservation to balance out his bravery and intelligence. He just didn't know it was this deep-seated. But he'll listen and learn and, with all his might, try to teach this kid that he's worth everything that Aizawa sees in him.

And his Problem Child needs someone, anyone, who cares, who will accept him and love him.And so, over the course of several days Izuku is shown, again and again, that he is loved. That he is safe to love who he wants, to be nerdy and vulnerable and kind and simply himself in any measure he should choose. Now he has a family to show him that.

I think it’s important for people to set boundaries and stick to them.
Izuku walks into the classroom dreading the day already while he nervously fiddles with his backpack straps. The adults would always say that Boys will be Boys and that the other kids will be more mature and better in Aldera, but seeing as those adults were the ones ignoring it in the first place, and that there's a vase of spider lilies on Izuku’s desk right now, he doesn’t much believe them.
Which brings him back to the point: there are set lines for everything.
Izuku can handle a lot of things. He doesn’t mind the teasing, and the name calling, and the occasional tripping, and the stolen property, or vandalization, or not having any frie-- getting off track. But suicide-baiting?
No.
That’s a line.
