Dorian squinted, suspicious. Ronan’s eyes remained closed. Some of his hair had come loose from its tie and spread over the grass between them, close enough that one dark wavy strand rested against Dorian’s knee.
Or: two men taking a break beneath a tree and ending up kissing.

Summary
To begin with, Ronan Maxwell Trevelyan was enormous. His reputation had certainly achieved impressive proportions already, but the man himself appeared to have been constructed for the specific purpose of making architecture tremble. Not as wide as the living barn door known as The Iron Bull, but quite large for a human.
He was also, Dorian soon discovered, only intermittently acquainted with shirts.
Definitely a brute, then.
Or a slow-burn in which Dorian pines and yearns for Ronan while gaslighting himself into thinking those feelings aren't returned.

Summary
There is comfort in the repetition of the forge, in knowing exactly what a piece of metal requires and exactly what will happen when March gives it. Heat it properly, strike it cleanly, quench it at the right moment. Iron does not surprise him. Iron does not turn up at his forge smiling like it has personally decided to make his morning more difficult. It does not argue with him when he tells it that something is a bad idea, nor tilts its head to look up at him with that infuriating spark in its eyes as though his irritation is somehow entertaining.

Summary
Eventually, he stops dead in the middle of the room, turns to Shepard, and just says it: “I don’t know if I did the right thing.”
Shepard stands and comes over to lean heavily against Garrus’s chest. She’s heavy and warm and trusts him implicitly. “You did,” she murmurs. “You showed him mercy. That’s always the right choice.”
Garrus sighs. “I… I’ll choose to believe you, Shepard.”
Do humans… know anything about turian affection? Probably not. So maybe… maybe… fuck it. She’s his best friend. He fell apart without her. She’s trusted him since the beginning. Garrus bends his neck and presses his forehead to Shepard’s. Immediately, he can feel himself relax, like a child cuddling their parent; this is safe. This is good. Shepard is trustworthy.
If she says it was the right choice, then it must be.
Two tired soldiers cling to each other amidst the swelling dread of the coming Reapers, and Garrus keeps forgetting to wash this blanket that smells like Shepard. Oh well, he IS very busy, lately.

Now Garrus must plan another date night for Shepard but they seem to be on the tail on some shenanigans involving a krogan, a flaming C-Sec cop car, and a noodle incident....
