Frank wasn’t his patient. His best-worse resident, best friend even if he’d denied it. A mentee. Closer to a lover than his child even if people called Frank his pyrrhic, prodigal son. Cut from his rib, a doctor shaped in his image, who saw all of Robby’s silent, impossible standards and glowed under the attention even if it meant pushing himself to the summit anyway, hands raw.
“You’re done. Do you hear me? You’re done for real this time.”
OR Frank gets hurt and Robby jumps to all the wrong conclusions.

“Wooah,” said a little boy, eyes blown wide. “You’re covered in blood.”
“Oh shit,” replied Trinity. “Wait, no. Fuck.”
The child, who was maybe six going off his height, giggled as she looked down at her surgical gown. She’d honestly forgotten that it was still on. It wasn’t too bad, with one large dark splatter covering most of the polypropylene protecting her scrubs. But to a child, she probably looked like a Walmart Halloween decoration come to life.
Or Trinity makes a friend. Only it so happens he’s 5 and his name is Tanner.

Summary
If Dr Al was going to step up to question why Langdon was hired back to the PMTC without punitive consequences, that was a good fucking thing. She could almost forgive the woman for being a stuck-up bureaucrat disguised in lululemon who seemed dedicated to reaming her out for her slow charting for the second day in a row. With any luck, Langdon would be fired again. Whatever. As long as she never had to see his weirdly symmetrical face ever again. Bloody good riddance.

Summary
The doctor diagnoses him with light road rash on his arms and face and informs him that he is very lucky, it could have been a lot worse. It makes Robby want to scream: I know, I’m a fucking doctor too. Because how many bodies has he put back together after nasty motorcycle accidents?
But only assholes tell other doctors they’re doctors when getting treatment in the ED. It's usually something that sets his teeth on edge. Robby screws up his nose and agrees tiredly. Lucky.
“Would you like us to inform your emergency contact, Mr Robinavitch?” asks the nurse with a gentle smile and a noise ring. He kind of hates them and their kindness. “Or anybody else?”
He thinks about Jack. How much this would hurt him. Then, traitorously, his mind swims towards Frank.
He shook his head. “No, that’s not necessary.”

It is simpler than she expected it to be, a clean surrender to the exhaustion clinging to both of them. It wasn’t that Donna had been bracing for awkwardness, not after Josh appeared at CJ’s door with a promise that he didn’t need a month. Not after the way he stared at her, the same way he had since election night, half-awe, half-pants shitting terror and begged her to go to Hawai’i with him. Not after the way Josh had threaded his fingers through hers the entire flight, as if unwilling to let her run away again.
