“I... I don’t...“ Eddie flounders. His gaze doesn’t stray from the road.
“...Please,” Buck pleads, even though he isn’t sure what he’s asking for. “Please, Eddie. You need to say it.”
“She’s...“ Eddie’s mouth twists. His throat works, shoulders rising.
“Shannon’s pregnant, Buck.”
Buck and Eddie share a complicated relationship. After one drunken mistake, however, they might just get more than they bargained for.

“You smell like you picked a fight with an ethanol pump,” he says evenly, eyes entirely too knowing for Buck’s liking.
“Bobby…”
“Your clothes are dirty,” Bobby cuts him off, “your hair is unbrushed, you have eyebags you can see a mile away, and you’re over an hour late.” Buck hangs his head, ashamed and unable to counter back.
“Buck…” Bobby softens, “if there’s something going on…”
Buck scrunches his eyes shut. “I’m fine, Bobby.”
Buck is fine. Really, he is. He's never been better at his job, he’s present in his friend’s daily lives and he thinks he’s finally moving towards building something more with Eddie. He’s fine. Except he’s also, maybe, falling back into old habits, and acquiring new ones in the process. He’s got it under control, though. No one needs to know.

Confused at the sudden conversational shift, Buck flounders, “Is… what new?”
In response, Eddie reaches out, grabbing his elbow with one hand and gesturing down at Buck’s outer forearm with the other. “That scar,” he explains, still frowning, “it looks recent.”
