Seriously, why are those shorts so tiny? Is there a reason for it? Does it improve one’s athleticism somehow? Where does a man even buy shorts that short?
Steve’s top half is covered by a sweat-soaked t-shirt, but on the bottom he’s just wearing a pair of very short red basketball shorts that leave little to the imagination. Steve is bulkier than Eddie, so for two hours Eddie has endured the sight of Steve’s strong thighs in five-inch-inseam shorts as he runs around, biceps flexing as he shoots, out of breath and periodically raking his hair out of his face. If Eddie had known this afternoon was going to be some kind of twisted test of his willpower, he would’ve worn less form-fitting jeans. He really does not want to pop a boner in front of two fifteen year olds and the person who caused said boner, especially in these fucking painted-on pants. Everyone would see.
Or: Steve's tiny basketball shorts are giving Eddie ideas. Little does he know that Steve is getting some ideas, too.
(Post-canon fix-it where Eddie is alive and graduated and Max didn't get Vecna'd.)

He grips the handle of your dagger and pulls it out of the wall beside your head with a strong tug. The dagger dances between his fingers as he twirls it then parts the split in your dress just enough to slide the dagger back into its holster. His fingers glide along your inner thigh and you gasp, his touch electric.
“Not exactly,” he says, “Just a little protective.”
You exhale slowly, evenly, your chest fluttering with a thousand hummingbirds, “Is there a difference?”
He pulls his gloves off and trails his fingers along the delicate skin of your inner thigh, “I suppose not.”

“Come on,” Kazuki repeats, sliding his hands down his arms, until he’s holding Rei’s hands. “Bed,” he repeats, gentle, comforting. His hands are warm, just as the rest of him and Rei finds himself thinking of the kisses they shared not so long ago. Bed, he thinks and he’s suddenly dizzy with the possibilities of it.
Is it too soon for that? he wonders, as he allows Kazuki to lead him out of the office. They haven’t quite discussed what’s this thing between them, although it’s evident enough how much they care for one another: Rei did take his father down for the chance to keep his little family.
In which Rei & Kazuki continue to navigate their relationship, try to raise their daughter well despite neither knowing what they're doing, while also being in charge of a criminal empire.

Summary
A compilation of one shots of missing scenes from Buddy Daddies. I try to be as canon compliant as possible in this series, but may include headcanons and whatnot. In this series Kazuki and Rei do eventually become a romantic couple (because that’s how I personally interpret their relationship) but some of the fics are QPR compliant too so if you’d rather interpret them that way, that’s fine by me!
These are not written in chronological order of any kind, but I will make sure to say in the notes of each fic approximately when it’s supposed to take place and try and keep the series in rough chronological order as well. I may also include prequel/sequel fics in here. Each fic also works as a standalone, so you don’t need to read all of them for each one to make sense.
I also have some Buddy Daddies fics that are not a part of this series. Those are just kind of stand alone one shots that I more focus on being fluffy and fun and less on staying super true to canon. AANYWAYS. I hope you enjoy!

“I might have a job for you, if you're interested in more than scraps,” the man tells him, producing a card from the inner pocket of his coat and placing it on the table, sliding it in Kazuki’s direction. “Tomorrow, 10 o’clock.”
If he expects Kazuki to reach for the card right away, he’s going to be disappointed, the teen thinks darkly. He is curious, but he’s not about to show it and the man chuckles once more, eyes alight with amusement. He taps the card once as he stands up and then turns on his heel, waving goodbye as he leaves. Kazuki waits until the man disappears through the door before finally reaching for the card.
It’s a regular business card, although Kazuki doesn’t think cafes’ owners usually have those. It must be a front for something, the mafia most likely and isn’t that interesting?
Kazuki is thirteen when he gets an offer to start working for the organization. It goes from there(AU, different first meeting)
