Two idiot monkeys in love putting off confessing, but one develops Hanahaki.
“I’m sorry, Pigsy. Something really important came up.” MK spoke into his phone, brushing his hands through the hair of the sleeping Mentor in his lap.
“Kid, WHAT COULD BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN-?”
“Someone I know is really sick, Pigsy. I can’t leave him alone. I’m not sure how much longer they have, and they’re refusing what can help them.”
The demon on the other side went silent, MK could hear the cogs in his brain working, trying to piece together information.
“Will he be okay?”
MK’s throat tightened, the burning of tears welled up in his eyes and he croaked out a “I don’t know.” He held onto the dirty cloak covering his mentor. “I’m going to help.”

Summary
Macaque should have stopped to think when he heard the familliar scream. The awful, pained scream from the future.
He did not.
Fueled by love and rage and longing, emotions he had repressed for so long, he ran. Jumping in the way of the spell and allowing the cursed circlet to take him in place of Wukong.
He does not know that this brief lapse in judgement, this tiny break in his walls of hatred, would change everything.

Summary
The shadow moved on instinct, dipping into the darkness and appearing just beside the boy, shouting “Look out!” before his mind could catch up. He shoved the little boy aside, but could not move in time to avoid the ink. It spilled all over him, ice cold and thick, sending a shock straight down his spine before he started shivering. Hard.
Or: Macaque gets hit with a magical substance, and Wukong is the closest person who can help. No, not the ink stuff from s4. It a different kind of stuff >:)

“Alright. Great chat,” Wukong says, something akin to resignation in his voice. He stands, brushing dust from his legs.
“Wait, Wukong.”
Macaque itches to reach out, grab Wukong by the pant leg and pull him back down to the ledge, probably call him an idiot until he can wrap his head around the want that bristles under his fur.
“Bro, your shirt is filthy. You really gotta change it.”
Or, Macaque takes the first steps towards something old and something new.
