Summary
Doppo Kunikida considered himself proficient in most things, ranging from the macrocosmic responsibilities of assisting in the functioning of one of Japan’s most efficient and pragmatically-built ability user organisations to the microcosmic dilemmas of life, ranging from what tie to wear to what event to which pizza restaurant to order from for Yosano’s birthday party. This was why, when he received a call at approximately 8:23pm on a Sunday, on his way back to his apartment that bordered the north end of Yokohama’s Chinatown, waiting patiently for the subway while holding a brown bag of this week’s groceries, Kunikida felt like a weight had been dropped on him.

Kunikida's mother is in town for a convention and expresses great interest in seeing his place of work - however, given Kunikida's oath that he will never associate with ability users nor terrorism combatting ever again or else he be relocated home, he soon has to put up with a series of unexpected forks in the road, blatantly insane coworkers, and a convoluted story to explain away his "sales" job to keep his real one.
