The guy is sitting on the back steps, ridiculous legs practically folded in half with how long they are, knees up to his chest. He’s got wild black curls and giant black glasses, the plastic frames glinting under the overhang lights, and he points at Eddie with his cigarette. “It’s not worth it, there’s— I’m sure you have things in the future that you’re looking forward to, right?”
Eddie blinks, wrapping his arms around himself, like the wool of his coat will protect him from whatever the hell is happening, “I’m not going to jump. Why would I jump?” He has to yell just to reach him.
