Crowded in the entryway, dual menaces by the names of Zhang Hao and Kim Taerae stand posed and prepared, right elbow supported by their hips, dreadfully familiar music blasting from someone’s phone.
He watches in mixed horror, embarrassment, and resignation as they lift their right shoulders, with all the sassiness they could possess, in frighteningly accurate renditions of Hanbin’s viral Mother move.

Summary
Despite his anger-driven reticence, the newfound hardness to his face, Hanbin still holds the door open for Hao. His hand skims Hao’s waist gently as he closes the door behind them; a quiet message—you are not the one I’m mad at.
Hao already knows, but the reassurance doesn’t hurt. He lets Hanbin back him against the door, lets Hanbin tuck his face into the crook of his neck. He runs a hand down Hanbin’s spine, fits palms against the slight curves of his waist, kisses Hanbin’s neck in the same way he’d done on national television not so long ago; except now, it’s just them, and their breathing, and the new kind of support system they must learn to build for each other.

Hanbin is not happy after the incident at Gimpo Airport. Hao is there for him.

“Hi,” he whispers, tangling their legs together. “You weren’t sleeping?”
“Not really,” Hanbin admits. “Mostly because I knew you weren’t.”

“And now we’ve debuted, and—and, I guess I’m scared?” He presses his palm flat against Hanbin’s stomach, listens to the beat of his heart, and tries to make sense of whatever is tangling in his chest. “It’s kind of shitty.”
“Debuting?” Hanbin asks, palm warm against his nape.

“Nice to meet you, Jisoo-yah,” Jeonghan says, hand curling around Jisoo’s. His heart beats on his tongue now, every moment threatening to break free of his mouth. “Join us for lunch on the green tomorrow.”
It’s not a request. Yoon Jeonghan does not request. But Jisoo nods, and Jeonghan smiles, and just like that.

They’re coming, comes Jeonghan’s reply. Bring them to the end of the corridor. I’ll get him out. The mental line shuts off, and Wonwoo’s left with his raspy breathing and the fire in his stomach and skidding across his skin.

Mingyu’s hand slides to enclose Wonwoo’s, fingers lacing with his. Wonwoo looks away from Mingyu, from the pain in his eyes. The way he hurts out in the open is so admirable to Wonwoo, but sometimes he hates it too.
Eyes are the window to the soul. Mingyu’s are not windows. Mingyu’s eyes are his soul. It’s all there — the hurt, the worry, the confusion, the love.
Wonwoo can’t bear to look at him.
“Maybe,” he says, voice quiet. There’s a lump smarting at the back of his throat. “Or maybe that I’m not worthy.”

“Try,” Soonyoung says, gentle, a hand playing with the hem of Minghao’s shirt. Minghao returns his eyes to the pages, but now translation eludes him for a different reason. Soonyoung’s fingers graze his side, and Minghao abandons the effort altogether.
“It’s really difficult,” he whispers, apologetic.
“It’s really difficult?” Soonyoung whispers back, forgiving, swallowing down his own voice like the words are a secret he’ll keep just for Minghao. His hand runs over Minghao’s bicep, caressing.
Soonyoung spends an afternoon and a night with Minghao, deep in the forest of Gapyeong -- companionship in the shape of each other's bodies, or hearts.
