Summary
As red and green eyes lock, the two young daemons knew that neither would shift again. If being unsettled was a constant state of ungrounded and wild emotions, then settling was finally finding a sense of peace in their own skin. Finding their home. This was how things were meant to be.
That feeling of ease and understanding lasted barely a second before a foreign wave of outrage crashed against her. She knew it couldn't be hers. Not in this moment. A quick look, and there. Still sitting in the shallow creek, Katsuki was shoving away an outstretched hand.
Her own fury swelled. Katsuki was supposed to be the best. Hot, loud embarrassment flooded her body. Izuku wasn't even trying to be heroic. This was just him. Her swirling emotions were fueled by Katsuki's and burned just as bright. But she looked at the panicked daemon in front of her, and the boy with the outstretched hand. And she knew who was really to blame.
OR,
Katsuki might not have needed saving that day in the river, but what if his daemon did. When Katsuki grew to resent Izuku after, his daemon grew to love him. And neither could forgive each other for it. Some things change, but some are inevitable.- Language:

Lois wrinkles her nose. “Flowers? Doesn’t my boyfriend’s death warrant an Edible Arrangement, at least?”
“Grievers can’t be choosers,” says Jimmy. He then points to Clark, the apparent source of the grief. “Especially when their boyfriends aren’t actually dead.”
Clark gives a shrug. “I think the flowers are a nice sentiment.”
“Not that I got any flowers,” complains Jimmy, while carrying said flowers over to the coffee table. “Doesn’t the best friend of the deceased deserve condolences too?”
Without getting up, Clark leans over to pluck a flower from the vase, then tucks it into the pocket of Jimmy’s jacket. “There. You have my condolences for my death.”
“Touching, Clark. Really.”
In other words, 5 times Clark Kent “dies.” And one time he actually does. (Mostly.)
