However, even the Prime Adepti is not infallible, for His Last Contract has given rise to a delicate, and difficult, international situation.
How, you may ask? Well, let us recount the time when the Lord of Anemo becomes the Regent of Liyue and the chaos that ensues—all for the want of an old, forgotten contract Morax has yet to cancel before faking His death.

Okk uhh Xiao backstory? He gave his name (Alatus) to a god and got used by her for a millennia cuz of it.
Taken in by the guili assembly after she was killed
was known as her bloodhound cuz of his years under her service. Feared by the commonfolk.
The adepti though, have opened up to him (except for Bosacious) Xiao has also.. mostly opened up to them.
Left for Chenyu Vale (his hometown) and met his parents (the Feng). A+ ‘parenting btw. An old couple took him in temporarily for a month. The husband knows that Xiao was the bloodhound, but the wife doesn’t. (Shes in the assembly now cuz their god was like: sacrificeeee so she escaped) Xiao then Left them, and came back to the assembly. Now living with the Yaksha for a week
Told the assembly councilmen about chenyu vale and his uhh kin ig
turns out Xiao was the one who killed the sacrificed women (long time ago)
