"Hello," it says, through a mouthful of needle-sharp teeth and a pair of cold-crystal eyes, unnaturally large and glowing. It looks human enough, at first glance — perhaps in the dark of night, Nanami might mistake it for a strangely reckless swimmer. Awake now, and lucid enough for visitors according to Ieiri, though Higuruma has not been one of them until now. He doesn't know the man well enough— doesn't know him at all, really; he’s only seen Nanami once before and that was by accident. Hurrying past, half-lost, he’d caught a glimpse of this same room with its door ajar, a burnt man inside cursing quietly at a ball in his hand, a cleaver of some kind sitting in front of him, Ieiri Shoko’s raspy voice saying something Higuruma couldn’t quite make out. It pinged as familiar, but it wasn’t until later that he put the pieces together: This was the same room Gojo often skulked outside of, sometimes with Ieiri, sometimes without, his cursed energy thick enough to muffle that of anyone inside.

His hair, now grown past his shoulders, is intact; his body does not tear itself apart in the memory of old wounds as Satoru's had; his breaths come without rattle or wheeze, and he can still walk, and talk, and fight. Suguru, after all, knows well what it is to starve. “I was never quite the handsomest man in the service, but your assistance might have boosted my chances.”

Higuruma knows two of those names. Has only met Gojo, obviously, but knows of Nanami Kento through Itadori, and Ino, and Ijichi, and Shoko herself. He sounded like a decent man. A good man, even, and one who’s missed nearly as much as Gojo, if by fewer people. The other two are less than ghosts; Yuu, he’s never heard of before, and Suguru tugs at his memory faintly, but ultimately yields no connection.

“You take the bed,” is the first thing Nanami says, only one foot over the threshold, his voice brooking no argument.
Higuruma, still in the hallway, takes a moment to deduce the logic behind this. All the same, he reserves his answer until they’re both well within the confines of the hotel room – average at best, thoroughly cleaned but unable to hide the marks of long-term use from a series of rotating guests over the years, but relatively comfortable for the purposes of a single occupant.
Unfortunately, there’s two of them.
