“You— hah, missed the best part,” Zagreus wheezed, a breathy laugh escaping him. “I… must have put on quite the show, I’d say.”
Thanatos’ hand brushed the side of his face, and Zagreus leaned into the touch. Warm, he noted, with some surprise. Thanatos was never warm. “I’m here now.” He took Zagreus’ hand in his, lacing their fingers together firmly. “I’m right here.”
Zagreus was used to dying— hard not to be, with the frequency he did it. He’d even go so far as to say he had mastered the art.
Usually, by now, the Styx would have swallowed him, bearing his body back home; yet this time, Zagreus knew he wouldn’t be so lucky. For whatever reason, it seemed he would be getting the full, unabridged experience of a mortal death. How fortunate he was.

Cosette looked into Marius' face, into his beautiful eyes, now clouded with tears; on his lovely lips, now begging for mercy. How much she would like to say that all was forgiven, that despite the suffering he had unwittingly brought, she loved him as never before, how she longed to reprieve him! However, she was unable to utter a single word.
Silence fell and she remained silent too. She had been wronged many times in the past, much more than this time, yet she never harboured a grudge inside her. So why was she now unable to forgive someone she boundlessly loved? But then, a faint voice whispered in her head, how could she forgive him? She couldn't even forgive herself.

Zenkichi has been trying to repair his relationship with his daughter now that Owada has finally been arrested for the manslaughter of his wife. Unfortunately, Owada hired a hitman to cover up his own crimes. That hitman is still out there and convinced that Zenkichi is a loose end that needs tying up. After getting cornered with Akane, Zenkichi's only escape is to use the mysterious new app on his phone that the Phantom Thieves keep calling "The MetaNav" to return to the cognitive world and take Akane with him.
Now Zenkichi's running a solo investigation to find any info on the man hunting him down. With his only lead a years-old case with all the evidence long expunged, the odds aren't in Zenkichi's favour. Which man will find which first?

Zenkichi thought he was (mostly) done with all the metaverse weirdness with the end of the Jails. A random barfight unfortunately shows that not to be the case. And the only one he can got to for answers is a kid who's been through more than enough as is.
Akira doesn't mind though. He's here to help his thieves, and that includes Zenkichi.
