It's a good thing he's already sitting down because he would've definitely stumbled on his ass, shocked by the sheer force of his emotions. His gaze never leaves Stan, couldn't if he tried, and it's at this moment he realizes one key detail that he's overlooked, even in the many past periods of time he was able to focus on the little things. One silly small element that punches him right in the gut at this very minute.

Stan rolls his eyes at Cartman, glancing over at that bright green ushanka hat in the distance, and his heart began to race. Ever since Wendy broke up with him, she helped him realize the root of all their problems. Stan never truly did love Wendy, his heart yearned for someone else, someone that would probably never be his despite his unwillingness to admit it.
Stan shakes his head softly, denying the feelings bubbling inside, "He's not looking at me, Cartman. Face it, our friendship was ruined a long time ago."
