    Summary:

Ted should really learn to keep his mouth shut. One minute, he’s joking about finding his soulmate on Bantr, and the next, he’s had a steady text only relationship for a couple weeks now. At first, he only downloaded the app to maybe find a friend who was not employed by AFC Richmond. Are his friends great? Yes, they sure are! Do they have their own lives, which leaves Ted a little lonely in between training and games? Unfortunately, also yes. And while it’s probably not his soulmate and still very much a big ol’ question mark in the relationship column, it’s not nothing, and Ted has no idea how to bring it up to the guys that A) he downloaded the app in the first place and B) he’s considering actually meeting up with the guy he matched with.

And, oh yeah, how to tell them it’s a guy.

    Coach Lasso,

I can assure you that my transfer has nothing to do with your club's relegation, nor is there anything that Richmond has done in error. Rather, I have spoken with my editors and we’ve agreed that this is the most appropriate course of action.

I wish you all the best in the season.

    Summary

Usually, David will take any excuse to put himself in Patrick’s space. This time, though, he stays where he is, though he does stop whatever he’s doing with the crab cakes. “So, your mom said something interesting to me earlier.” His voice is painfully neutral and with his back still turned, Patrick doesn’t have an expression to read.

Or, what if more than one bombshell was dropped the day of Patrick's birthday — one they couldn't come back from?

    Summary

“Ugh!” David shouts, trying to figure out how to explain how utterly maddening this man was. “Yes, he was polite, I guess, but the way he said it was like—" he lets out a noise of frustration “—you know that fucking emoji of the moon?”

“The one with that condescending smile that looks like it probably just did a really bad fart and is proud of it?”

“Yes!” David points so forcefully at Stevie that he almost falls off the couch. “He may have said polite words but his expression was pure stinky-fart-moon-face!”

Stevie makes a noise of disgust. “I hate that fucking emoji.”

David meets Patrick Brewer, a glassblower, at the Elmington Craft Fair and loves his work, but wishes it didn’t come attached to someone so condescending. Not that it matters, because apparently Patrick has no interest in becoming part of the Rose Apothecary brand. It wouldn’t be nearly so annoying if Patrick’s best friend wasn’t about to be David’s newest vendor.

    Summary

"Oh, thank god.” David tips his drink back and Patrick is almost too distracted by the bob of his adam’s apple to register the blow. “No offense, but you’re not my type.”

Patrick blinks. “That’s...something you just said. Wow, okay.”

Or, David and Patrick meet on a blind date.
