Summary
“But I...?” Hargrove asks, after long enough for Steve to go nose-blind to the furyragekillmaimkill scent, the Alpha’s jaw set and hands clenched in his pockets and eyes so easy, so blue, so- pretty. God, Steve should stop looking. Should look away, any second now. “Spit it out, doe-eyes. Don’t got all day.”
God, he has to stop looking at him.
“You call me Captain,” Steve answers, finally breaking eye contact to look instead at Hargrove’s fingers flicking his lighter again and again. Steve hopes the words say what he can’t: you were kind to me. From the way his fingers still, and the soft, barely-there pleased surprise blooms in Hargrove's scent beneath the rage, Steve thinks they might.
Or: Billy moves to the deadest part of the United States, meets the prettiest boy he's ever fucking seen, starts writing poetry, and everything - literally everything, from common courtesy to the food chain in Hawkins to his already-rocky home life to something so basic as his secondary gender - goes to fucking shit. For the better. Steve has panic attacks, spends most of his time alone, and swallows everything he's ever felt on reflex. And then he meets Billy, and everything gets, well- better. Much better.

Matthew Pierson has a little bit of a crush on Stevie Harrington. She’s gorgeous, she’s rich as God, she’s a sweetheart, and she trusts him to help her with the calc homework almost every day. He wants to take her to the Homecoming dance - and to his bedroom after - more than anything. Only problem: he’s pretty sure Billie Hargrove started a nasty rumor about him after their fight the first week of classes, and it’s gonna ruin his chances to get with the girl of his dreams.
Or: Matthew is an idiot. Queen Bee Stevie Harrington dusts off her crown when someone bruises her favorite pretty face.

No one knows what Soap is.
It is, in theory, a simple question and answer. Ghost, however, knows how difficult that simple back-and-forth can become when information has the power to kill - his identity is a secret for the men he fights beside, for his own safety, for the country he serves. A simple question, what’s your name, is a game of mystique for every vampire when it inevitably comes calling; but vampiric name traditions are well known. No one knows his name, but they all know he’s beholden to it, that any who whisper it will call him home. They know why they don’t know his name.
No one knows what Soap is. And no one knows why.

Summary
Beemer Barnes turns to face them and Cat turns to look at her lips and Cat’s world stops spinning around her, and starts spinning around Her. Barnes. She’s shorter than Cat (not that that’s hard) but she has this sort of presence that means she feels big. She feels like something Cat can’t unsee, not stirring but violently shaking to life feelings Cat is not supposed to ever entertain again.
Beemer Barnes curls her pink lips in a scowl and spits with rage at Barney's feet. “Fuck right off, Barton.”
Or Cat Barton gets home for Christmas Break and decides, angrily, imperfectly, that she's gonna get better, white-knuckled grip tightening and throat cracking as she screams out the window of her brother's car. Jamie Barnes won't let her change her mind.

Soap wants, more than anything, down deep where secrets have claw marks in them from how tightly they're held, to be seen. An artist and Submissive, he sees the world as few others do; a hidden Truculent, he sees others as few others do.
He sees, but he isn't seen.
Ghost wants, more than anything, to know what he wants. He oscillates between digging his teeth into the idea of Johnny and wanting to rend flesh from bone at the long-dead urges Johnny awakens within him.
He wants, but he doesn't know what.
Or: Sub for Sub Ghoap with a hefty side of hurt/comfort.

Summary
A sapphic “Pretty Woman” retelling in which Cat Barton, butch sex worker, saves CEO Jamie Barnes from disappointing the ghost of her mother; Steve Rogers charms the pants off everyone he meets trying to save his godfather’s ship company; Hotel Manager Phil Coulson has entirely too many queer mentor conversations to keep his calm; and Natasha Romanov proves entirely too skilled in the art of infiltration.

Summary
War is a rare experience one can never claim to understand without holding a rifle in their hands, dog tags slapping their sternum as they run across enemy land. Stevie Rogers, unlike any of the men surrounding her, doesn’t simply understand the war. She is Mars Ultor, the Roman god of War and Vengeance, exiled to 1920’s Brooklyn. In other words, she is the war, whether she knows what that means or not.
Crown Regent of Asgard Tarene Odinsdottir has learned that a good king does not eagerly await war, but remains vigilant and prepared for it.
She is not prepared for Stevie Rogers.
Strangers to Friends to Lovers, featuring the search for the happiest ending, hair braiding, incessant pop culture education, the art of forgiveness, and second chances.

Summary
"That..." Tony chews on his words, taking his time selecting them. "...Former SHIELD Agent shot himself in the FOOT by doing this to his LANDLORD."
Bucky, while enlightened enough to recognize codespeak for "My hair is orange because of Clint, and not for personal, on-purpose reasons," feels just as lost as he had prior to Tony's outburst - these two have been in a Steve-mandated truce for six months now, ever since Bruce found himself between them and a code green was called. There’s a very secretive, very tempting reward on the table for whoever A) maintains the truce and B) is most helpful to the Avengers, a reward that, due to the revival of the prank war, will be forfeited.
A reward, unfortunately, that goes to Natasha as punishment. It has mixed results, the biggest of which includes Bucky in a dress with a thigh slit.

Summary
Jamie Barnes is a competent sort of woman. She does her therapy, she cooks her meals, she stabs her own enemies. She doesn't need much in the world, because her independence is her greatest treasure.
And then she meets Cat Barton, all sweet smiles and butch build and slow drawl and helpful instincts, and all that kind of goes out the window, because while she doesn't need, she certainly wants. She really wants.
Cat Barton has no idea what's coming to her, stuck on the prettiest lady she's ever seen who makes her feel - well, not needed, because she'd surely fuck that up. But wanted. Yeah. It makes her, against her life's advice otherwise, really want Jamie Barnes back.

"Maybe I'm just better than you, and everyone here knows it!"
"Maybe you're a supersoldier in a bottle gone SOUR!"
If someone told Jamie Barnes she'd end up- well, she doesn't want to spoil the ending, but if anyone told her she and Cat Barton would be anything more than erotic enemies, she'd have laughed them out of the room.
If someone told Cat Barton that she'd end up eating her words, she'd probably shoot them just to prove a point. And then deeply contemplate the way the plates in Jamie Barnes' arm move, in an entirely platonic sort of way.

Summary
Grief is a powerful thing. It clutches, like greed; it hungers, like gluttony; it aches, like lust; it demands, like pride. Grief envies the past, and can hold one captive in a moment, at a grave, in a memory; it is much like sloth, in this regard. Most importantly, and most dangerously, grief is a sister, hand in hand, with wrath.
A devil with cracked horns, Lady Justice with her gaze shielded, a child wronged by the dead long gone. Grief, palpable, weary, and worn, is angry.
(OR, Foggy Nelson has the idea to share scary stories while the Defenders & Co. drink their Halloween away at the firm. This idea is odd, but he's been thinking, and he has a great one: the tale, sordid but true, of how Avocados at Law was really born.)

Summary
Sometimes, all you want is to be someone's plaything. Their doll, to position and play with as they see fit. If you're tall, and built, and mixed race, people assume things about you, and it's really difficult, at times, to get what you want.
Sometimes, all you want is a pretty doll to play with and buy things for. If you're a wisp of a woman, and mousy in the lab, and harebrained at the best of times, people assume things about you, and it's really difficult, at times, to get what you want.
And then, sometimes, all you want is staring right at you, anonymously, on a camgirl site. And you get to keep her.

Summary
There's places that you can go, as a top-secret government assassin, where people don't know your name. These places don't have a heartbeat, they don't have a breath, but they'll hold you, cold and empty, for as long as you can stomach it.
There's places you can run, there's faces you can put on, there's people you can pretend to be, but even here, in these cold, wretched places where you're alone, you know, even if no one else does, who and what you are underneath. You know you're not from around here.
If you're lucky, if you're gifted one Phil Coulson, you won't stay here long. It's just a matter of waiting until you meet him.
Five times Clint Barton drinks, despite himself, and one time he drinks on joyful, laughing purpose.

Darcy/Natasha soulmate AU inspired by Call My Own by Isabel Pless
Darcy grows up with a less-than-charming soulmark on her right arm and a chip on her shoulder. She resolves herself to punching her soulmate when she meets him, and to always being the smartest in every room she can manage.
Natasha grows up with a less-than-ethical training regimen and a scarred over left hip. She resolves herself to never having a soulmate - love, after all, is for children. (And Steve. He deserves one good thing in his life.)
Or, if we're being real, five times these two almost get it right, and one time they finally, finally do.

Summary
“So, Weasel, you got any more Asgardian ale for me?” He muses as he approaches the bar. May watches several men scoot their chairs in as he passes them. Must have something to do with the swords on his back, she assumes.
Weasel, the bartender, doesn’t show any fear though. “No, Wade, you drank all of it last week, remember? Something about lost love, and an alien bosom-”
“Alien bosoms hold more love and care than the average Huggies commercial, Weasel, don’t give me that,” Wade answers jovially. “So who’s the guest? What’s the job?”Or how Wade finds a family, May finds her nephew, and Peter finds an unkillable love.
There are non-canonical characters used for world-building and background support.
