Silence rings through the cave. Nico stares at the husk of a man before him, waiting until the quiet is awkward and waiting even longer past that. He looks at Will, who shrugs at him, before turning to open his mouth to repeat himself, when soft mumbling catches his attention.
Creeping forward slightly, Nico crouches down in front of the hero. “Sorry, could you say that a bit louder?”
A crackling, raspy voice that sounds as though it hurts increases in volume: “My philtatos, bring me my philtatos. My philtatos, please, my philtatos—”

“Jordan?” she asks in a cheery voice.
I nod and reply an immediate ‘Yep’
“Take a seat.” she motions to the rows of chairs that fill the clean, carpeted room. “Mark is finishing up with a client, he shouldn’t be too long.”
“Cool. Thanks” I turned around to find a seat. The typical, uncomfy and sticky rubber or fake painted leather waiting room chairs - I’m not really sure what material it is, but it is horrible - are mostly empty. An elderly looking man with a walking stick sitting in the corner and a boy who looks about my age against the wall.And the boy is staring at me. Like proper - open mouth - staring. Do I have something on my face? Do I look weird? I send him a quick smirk as I choose a seat across from him.
The boy picks up a magazine from the table to make himself look busy, squirming in his seat as I keep my eyes on him. Fine. I can take the hint that he doesn’t want to talk to me. But for some reason, I feel like ignoring it.

Henry looked around, seeing Pez and Nora both with beaming smiles in his direction. He fiddled with the corner of the small, yellow paper in his hands and saw Alex doing the same, brow furrowed as he watched Henry return to his seat.

Summary
After a few years of living together in New York Alex and Henry's lives are going great, but Queen Mary is an ever looming shadow. When she summons Henry back to England for apology tour for a comment he makes on a podcast, Henry and Alex realize something needs to change. Before they can make that change, though, Henry's plane home from the apology tour crashes in the Canadian wilderness, killing all on board.
Or so Alex is lead to believe. Trapped in his grief, he flees back home to Texas to try and start over. And over. And over. He finally settles in a small town at a small lawfirm, but it isn't until he joins the local volunteer fire department that his life starts to finally turn back around.
Only Henry isn't dead. In an attempt to both smother his "corrupting influence" but still protect the line of succession until Philip has kids, Mary has had him squirreled away deep in the Australian outback.
And, well, it's amazing how often the outback burns, isn't it? Sometimes, it burns so bad, they need help from international firefighters...

This is basically just another Three Days in the Infirmary fic because I absolutely love them and wanted to write my own. It starts where Nico's last chapter in BoO ended off and goes on from there, covering the development of Will's and Nico's relationship how I liked to think it happened before I read The Sun and The Star.
This won't be canon compliant because I don't like some of the things that canonically happened after HOO.
In this fic I really want to discover Nico's character more so it will not be all about Solangelo. Though there will still be a fair share of it.The aromantic urge to write fluff ig :)
