Tim didn’t expect anyone else to be awake.
His solution to that was to brew a cup of coffee and get some work done, so he was at least being useful instead of wasting time staring at his ceiling. He didn’t even like coffee that much, he just didn’t want to be stuck in a weird haze until he had to be up in the morning.
As he reached for the coffee grounds, the kitchen light came on. He froze.
“Drake.” Tim sighed.

"Alright, asshole," says Jason and plunks a folder down directly on the keyboard of Tim's laptop. "I'm calling in that IOU."
Tim doesn't startle, not visibly. But all at once there's a batarang in his hand, the blade gleaming sharp. It takes him a second to register who the intruder actually is before he gives Jason a lingering, suspicious sidelong glance and tucks it away again.
"What IOU?" says Tim. "And how'd you get in here?"
He looks like shit, frankly. There are dark smudges under his eyes, and he's lost weight since Jason's seen him last. From the coffee cups scattered around the desk, it's probably even odds that he's on at least 24 hours without sleep.
"I work in mysterious ways," declares Jason. "By which I mean your window's open. You get kind of careless when you haven't slept, Timbo."

Everyone falls into silence to witness the reaction.
Bruce blinks again, “I’ll be honest, F,” a few look shocked at the familiarity, “According to Queen’s wrinkles we’re currently in the future,” an offended ‘hey’ barely phases him, “And I think it’s more of a time switch thing then a deaging thing, mostly because I am just… super high right now. Like super high. And usually deaging would like uh, burn that up? Or something I forgot the word… words. Whatever. Anyways, I’m going to sit down,” he pushes his cape back to carefully sit on the ground crisscross like a child before looking up at Barry again who's looking at him unimpressed with his hand on his hip.
Giving him a smile and a thumbs up, “I believe in you, F!”
Everyone but Barry stares at him for some reason in disbelief or something- not that he cares. Barry is in charge and he’s sick and that means he doesn’t have to worry about it cause Barry will protect him.
Barry just looks at the ceiling and mumbles to himself something that makes Superman take a step back and Bruce snicker to himself.

"Maybe it comes in waves." Dick said softly to the sky. "Being nice. Sometimes, it's - it's nice. It's just rain, and it's nice. Other times, it's not, but you can't leave, because you don't have an umbrella, and you're wet, and if you go inside, you'll just track the water in or worse. You could make someone else cold and wet, and that - that's not fair when all you wanted was for it to be . . . to be nice."
Dick bit his lip, sudden shame swallowing him. He felt stupid. He felt like a child. His entire chest was tight, and dampness was sinking past his jacket, his shirt, into his skin and his heart, and soon enough, he'd have to wring the water out of his soul -
"It's okay to get other people wet sometimes." Batman said softly. "Sometimes, the people who love you would rather be wet with you than dry alone."

Crossing his ankles propped on the table, jostling his helmet next to him, his mouth quirked up. “At least I’m not you, who sees the idiot as some sort of pseudo father figure.”
Dick choked on his coffee, and Damian sputtered and took a step back. “What?!”
“You heard me.” He thumbed in the direction of Dick, who clumsily tried to mop up the hot liquid staining his shirt and scalding his skin with a crusty dishrag that smelled like mildew. “You see him in a way you don’t your own dear old dad.”
Damian’s cheeks darkened in a deep flush that even reddened the tips of his ears. “You don’t know what you’re talking about!”

After an injury benches Tim for a few months, he and Damian are forced to cohabitate until Tim recovers. Along the way Damian learns that there’s a lot he doesn’t understand about Tim Drake, starting with his total lack of self-preservation.

Jason frantically waved his hands as Kon burst into tears.
“Hey, I didn’t mean it like that. Hey.” Jason looked panicked, reaching out as though to touch him but not quite following through. “That was supposed to be funny. I’m sorry, that was kind of a dick thing to say. I don’t know why I said that.” Kon was heaving.

“Show me your wrists” Dick says
He’s turned to look at him and he can now clearly see his brother’s half-angry, half-scared face, but he doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t care if he’s scaring him, or making a mess of his things, all he cares about is that bone deep fear that makes his whole body tremble and that image of that little boy in the rye field running towards the cliff with no one to stop him.
“What?”
“Show me your wrists, Jason.” He shouts and tries to take hold of his hands and turn them around forcefully.
“No!”
“Show me your wrists!”
And Jason lets him. He lets him pull his hands towards him, he lets him turn them upside down so that the screen of his watch is facing the floor, he lets him pull up his sleeves…
Or, after Dick confronts Bruce about the batarang incident, he goes to Jason’s place. It is not a happy visit.

With makeup and some stylish-yet-inexpensive clothes, Olivia could pull off most undercover ops. She was Tim’s Matches Malone.
Then Hood had shown up on the scene.

He had no other choice than to keep an eye on her. And kit her out with armor so she wouldn't accidentally get shot. And make sure she was being treated fairly by her mysterious boss.And, okay, maybe become her big brother.
