"At least the stewardesses were pretty to look at. While the uniforms had gotten undeniably prudish since the 70's, there was something about the knee-length sky blue skirts and dainty little neck handkerchiefs that piqued his red-blooded american interest.
One of them was certainly a looker, long shapely legs with curves that the modest skirt couldn't quite hide, a head full of teased black curls. The stewardess was bent down so she could speak to one of the passengers and thus Daniel got a full glean of her backside. When she stood upright, he was surprised to find she was deceptively tall. He hadn't even seen the broad’s face yet but Daniel was still chomping at the bit. God, it had been a hot minute since he last got laid.”

A deep, hot bath of forgetfulness. He wished he could forget those eyes too, the horrific object of his fear and longing, floating above him without a face, a narrowed pair of warm skylights.

Please know what you are getting into; Dad is physically more or less in good health but awful at accepting his limitations, unnecessarily mean, generally uncooperative, and largely nocturnal. Imagine yourself caring for a feral raccoon that is convinced it’s going to write another book, then subtract everything that is cute about raccoons.
$20/hour, roughly 4 hours a day. Must be able to pass a background check and lift 50 lbs. Patience of a saint not required but preferred.- Language:

Somewhere in a bar in New York, Daniel hears about them. He wants to fill a void. The difference between what is real and what isn’t matters as little to him as the things he’ll find to throw into the darkness. Which, as it turns out, is quite a lot.

Armand feeds him from the wrist and Daniel is unmade, pulled like the end of a slipknot until he once more is a thing unformed. A blank slate, tabula rasa, wiped clean. A sand castle at high tide. A snake eating its own tail.
Everything eats itself in the end, comes back to where it started, and Daniel is no different. His blood is Armand’s blood is his blood, and when he gulps down mouthful after mouthful, Armand’s hand feverishly massaging his throat to aid the weak, dying muscles in forcing it down, it is himself he is drinking from.
He is at the bottom of it all. He is at the place from before the bottom even existed, the place that always was. He is woven into nothing and back again. He is woven into nothing and it is woven into him. He is woven, and unwoven, and hungry, and woven, and starving, and woven.
Starving, starving, starving. Like the ringing of an alarm clock. Eat, you stupid motherfucker. Feed.
He thought he knew before, when he was just a dumb addict. What it means to be hungry.
He had no fucking idea.
