“I guess I haven’t been far enough into the city,” Shane muttered, most of his focus on dabbing at the stain on his Reebok undershirt.

After being forced to quit hockey in juniors, Shane becomes a model. He avoids the hockey world until 2017, when he has a run in with Ilya Rozanov. Shane is out as gay and Ilya has already cut his ties with Russia, but that doesn't make things any easier for them.

The MHL has some of their finest in New York City to film promo for the upcoming season. Shane doesn't notice that, in the absence of hockey, Ilya keeps inventing games to keep his attention.

He hits the puck towards the net, turns and skates towards Shane to celebrate. Instead of cheering from his team, he hears a very loud Wyatt Hayes. “Fuck yes! Take that Rozanov!”
He saw Shane’s face, his husband was trying to hold back his laughter.
He turned back to look at Wyatt. The motherfucker was holding the puck as if he just won a trophy.
“No fucking way!” Ilya yells out. In his shock he just stands near the boards.He felt a hand on his back. “That’s embarrassing, baby. Better luck next time, I guess.”
