Summary
It is with absolute certainty that Gale knows two things: the first is that John will not part with his daughter from now on, nor would Gale ask or even want him to. The second is that Gale will not part with John, either, not for anything in the world. And the culmination of that means that Gale winds up with a daughter too.
The thought terrifies him like nothing else, not even compared to minefields of flak and onslaughts of attacking Messerschmidt, or the consistent threat of trigger-happy Kraut guards. But beneath her blonde curls it was John’s eyes that peered intently back at him, and John’s dimpled cheeks that framed her features - which meant there wasn’t really a question for him, was there?
OR: John discovers that he has a daughter, and he and Buck become fathers overnight. This is the story of their adjustment to post-war life, while simultaneously having their life turned upside-down by a precocious three-year-old girl.

Summary
“John?” It’s Marge’s voice that comes through the line, and she sounds distant, like her mouth isn’t near the receiver. “It’s Marge.”
“Well, hello Marjorie.” John asks, with a grin. “To what do I owe this pleasure?” There’s a lilt to his voice that perhaps borders a little too much on flirting considering she’s another man’s wife – specifically, his best friend’s wife. But Gale never calls him on it, and Marge allows it, so John never pushes for why.
“Uh, it’s, ah – it’s Gale.” Her voice is closer now, but pinched in that concerned way that people sound when they don’t know how to say what it is that’s wrong.
OR: Gale has a flashback, and Marge calls John when she's out of options, knowing he'll be able to help Gale.

Summary
In the hell of the stalag, Gale and John's relationship evolves into something deeper than friendship, something more profound than Gale can put words to - but he's still got Marge at home, ever faithful and loving. As he tries to reconcile who he once was and who he is now, he's also trying to keep John's from falling apart. Amidst letters from Marge, the end of the war, and coping with life after, John and Gale find Marge to be a lot more accepting than they'd thought.
OR: Gale loves BOTH John and Marge and has a crisis over it, but finds out that his wife is very accepting.
Warning: Rating has been updated for Chapter 2. Chapter 1 is still very much SFW.

Summary
John’s heart gave a stutter and butterflies fluttered in his stomach – he knew that look to be a rare thing; a gift bestowed solely on him. Not once had it failed to make him feel like a love-sick teenager enamoured with his best friend. To him, Gale looked to be the perfect picture of contentment, all cozied up and ready for bed, a sight reserved for his eyes only. It was a marvel that they’d made it this far, John thought, that I’m even alive to get to see him like this.
OR: When John returns home to Gale unusually early from a night out on the town, Gale recognizes the cracks in John's charming facade and is happy to look after him in the warmth and comfort of their home.

Summary
"So hot," the other woman agreed, shooting a quick glance out at Jack. "Those arms. Have mercy."
Robby hid a smile. Jack was gonna love hearing about this.
Her friend made an agreeing sort of noise. "Yeah, but I'm gonna be so real with you: the leg kinda freaks me out."
And Robby froze, a ripple of offense sweeping him.

Summary
“Bring everything,” Jack demands. “Send Collins, Mohan, Langdon, King— I want anyone even a little bit useful up here right now, Dana—”
“They’re coming,” Dana tells him down the other end, through the chaos he can hear, shouting voices and scrambling action. It’s such an eerie counterpoint to the thunder-rumbling silence up here on the roof that Jack’s stomach turns as he ducks for two more rescue breaths. “How bad is it?”
Jack pushes his fingers to Robby’s throat again and still finds nothing. His face is so white when he cups it between his hands, probing for anything, the slightest flutter of a pulse, and he can’t find it. Nothing.
“Bad,” he tells her. The phone slips from between his cheek and shoulder to crack on the rooftop.
or: robby gets struck by lightning one night when jack meets him up on the roof.

Summary
Shot down over Germany late in the war, Major Gale Cleven and John “Bucky” Egan survive against the odds — stranded deep in enemy territory with no clear path home. But amid the rubble, they stumble on something no one was trained to handle — not an enemy, not a target, but something far more unexpected.
Back at base, nothing is quite the same. What they found won’t let go — and neither will Gale.
It’s not what war trains you for. It’s not what Gale ever thought he’d be asked to carry.
And Bucky, watching it unfold, starts to realize he’s falling for more than just the man Gale’s becoming.Bookmarked by edbl

Summary
“You have to twist your hand the other way to tie that stitch correctly,” Robby says, looking over Jack’s shoulder.
“Fuck off,” he mutters under his breath.
“Just trying to help.”
“Go kiss ass over there ponyboy.”
“Ponyboy? We’re bringing it back to freshman year English class?”
Or: the history of Jack Abbot and Michael Robinavitch's relationship from med school and the ache that comes with it never being the right timing.
