Summary
Everyone knew that Ed would flinch if you tried to touch him. It was fine if he touched you first, but if you reached out without him preparing himself for it, he would normally shift out of the way until he knew what you were doing. It wasn’t that he disliked touch, just that many years of being shot at and stabbed did tend to make people suspicious.
It had been almost a month since the crew had been back together, and despite the long nights of angry yelling being far in the past, they hadn’t made much in the way of progress for acceptable touch again.
Ed had convinced himself that he didn’t need it, even if he missed it.
Stede had convinced himself that Ed had moved on from the whole romance idea.
Lucius was exhausted with both of them.

Stede had never felt so indignant yet so embarrassed at the same time. He could feel the tips of his ears going absolutely crimson. “Lucius, are you even seeing this man?”
Stede couldn’t bring himself to explain to Lucius the way he’d fawned over Ed Teach’s ridiculous biceps and doe eyes and luscious beard for literal decades at this point, much less the fact that he’d dreamed of being able to style Ed Teach’s hair since cosmetology school. Sure, the dream sometimes spiraled into a more . . . unsavory realm, but it was a dream, nonetheless.

Since his loveless marriage and, thankfully, amicable divorce, Stede has run a high-end salon in LA. But when his celebrity crush of twenty years, Ed Teach, books an appointment, Stede practically doesn't even know how to function. It only gets worse when Ed seems to be reciprocating Stede's feelings. Soon, Stede finds himself in a world of overly aggressive assistants, searching paparazzi, and, at the end of it all, hopefully, a happy relationship (finally).
