Summary
"And sure, being Spider-Man sucked sometimes, but most of the time? Most of the time, being Spider-Man was awesome. It was Buck's way to help, his way to make a difference. And if there was one thing Buck loved, it was helping others. Nothing compared to the rush of catching bad guys or the gratitude from those he saved. A part of him knew it was tied to his need for validation, but hey, what better way to channel childhood trauma than beating up bad guys?"
or
Buck gets bitten by a radioactive spider and chooses to become Spider-man instead of a firefighter, while Eddie loses his sight in Afghanistan and finds a different way to help people that involve his fists. With some bonus Christian iconography.

“Apparently I stole his very special mug,” Eddie says, not bothering to hide the sarcasm. “I know you guys keep saying he’s all bark, Buck’s a real sweetheart, but I'm starting to worry you all just have terrible judge of character,” Eddie half-jokes. He sighs, rubbing at his eyes. “What the hell is his problem?”
“Full moon tonight,” Chimney says with a smirk, chewing his gum like he’s proud of himself for that joke.

Eddie jolted as he heard the whistling rasp that was slipping out of Buck’s mouth.
“Hey,” Eddie said, his limbs feeling like they were moving through molasses as he fought himself onto the clearer side of waking up. “What’s—”
“I… Can’t…” Buck gasped before he swallowed audibly. “I’m having t-trouble… b-breath-ing.”

“Victim is Charles Dumont. Three gunshot wounds to the chest. Looks like an attempted robbery. There was a case of bourbon with a bottle missing and we found Charlie’s wallet tossed a few blocks from here. And Eddie?” Athena stopped just as she got to the door and turned him with a serious expression on her face. “There’s a witness.”
Her frown dipped under the professional mask she was known for and Eddie caught the flicker of concern pulling at her composure.
“You know him?”
Athena pressed her lips into a tight line and nodded.
“Evan Buckley. He’s the bartender here. He was helping Charlie restock tonight when he heard a noise and saw it happen.”
Homicide Detective, Eddie Diaz, is called in to investigate the murder of a local shield and ladder bar owner. There he meets his only witness, Evan "Buck" Buckley.

Summary
When the 118 jokingly launches a Cowboy Competition to learn who is more Cowboy. Buck and Eddie find themselves in the middle of a playful showdown—Montana ranch hand versus Texas native.
____
Buck wasn’t oblivious to it—the way Eddie’s gaze lingered just a little too long, the way his jaw flexed like he was trying not to react. It made something flutter in Buck’s chest. Something warm. Hopeful. Maybe even dangerous. And then the music shifted into something fast and easy, and Buck reached out his hand.
“Come on. I promise not to lasso anyone.”Eddie huffed a laugh, but he took the offered hand anyway.
Buck led him toward the edge of the dance floor, feet already tapping in time with the beat, and as they fell into the simple steps, Buck let himself watch—really watch—Eddie find it.
That rhythm. That spark. That joy.
Eddie’s smile started small, hesitant. But with each beat, each movement, it grew. Buck watched Eddie dance with joy. Buck couldn’t look away.
God, he was so gone.
And when Eddie turned mid-step, grinning, hat-lighted Buck standing just inches away, all Buck could think was:
I want to dance with him like this forever.

Summary
Eddie shifts again, lifting one leg over Buck’s lap so that he’s straddling him. His knees bracket Buck’s thighs as he settles his weight down onto him. He’s warm and solid and much closer than Buck knows how to handle. There’s no room for him to think—not when Eddie’s thighs are pressing in, not when the fabric of that stupid pink shirt keeps brushing against Buck’s arms.
And then Eddie starts to move and Buck’s brain completely short-circuits. Eddie’s hips roll forward deliberately, like he’s just letting himself follow the beat of the music. Then he rocks back again, and Buck feels the shift through every part of him.
That’s when it finally hits him. This is happening. Eddie Diaz is giving him a lap dance.
Holy fuck.
