Amber wove her fingers through my hair, undoing my warrior's tail the rest of the way, and smiled down at me compassionately. Sadly. I hated the sorrow I saw in her tawny eyes. "Give your wrist to me, Beloved," she said, then reached for it before I could obey of my own volition. Her gloved fingers drummed gently against the vein that carried blood from my arm all the way up to my heart. "And let's pretend it can for a while, anyway."
In which Fitz asks Amber very very politely to knock him the fuck up.

His words were so convincing, his logic so sound and similar to my own, that I found myself nodding along with it.
