Loki swallowed, and Gamora wondered if she had ever seen him so vulnerable. Not for a long time, she thought, not since he had first come to Sanctuary – when he’d been broken. Broken, just as she and Nebula had been.
“I have nowhere else.”
Gamora looked at him, and took account of every inch of the man before her. Gamora looked at him, and saw how he fidgeted. How he held his breath. How he hoped. Gamora looked at him, and recalled her conversation with Drax that morning.
“It is worth protecting, you know.”
“What is?”
“Family.”
Family.
She wanted hers whole.
Gamora looked at him – looked at her brother – and smiled.
“Welcome aboard, Loki.”

What if Loki had never been sent to Earth by Thanos? What if he stayed on Sanctuary for years, a member of the Black Order alongside Nebula and Gamora until 2014, when he was sent with the sisters to aid Ronan's search for the Power Stone? What if, soon after, Loki joined the Guardians of the Galaxy?

Loki spoke quietly. Tiredly. His voice had lost all its charm, and all that was left was raw vulnerability. “I… have nowhere else to go.” The question was implicit.
He swallowed, and Gamora wondered if she had ever seen him so vulnerable. Not for a long time, not since he had first come to Sanctuary, before he had been hardened. Just like her and Nebula had been. They had all been forged in the same flames, hadn’t they?
“Please, Sister?”
She looked at him, silent and trying to hide the fidgeting of his hands behind his back, and caught his eye, watching as he held his breath. She recalled what Drax had said: Family. She wanted hers whole.
And then Gamora smiled softly at her brother, and gestured up the gangplank. “Welcome aboard, Loki.”

What if Loki had never been sent to Earth by Thanos? What if he stayed on Sanctuary for years, spending time with Gamora and Nebula and others of the Black order until 2014, when he was sent with the sisters to aid Ronan in his quest? What if, soon after, Loki joined the Guardians of the Galaxy?
I just wanted to write a fic where Loki Nebula and Gamora bond and become siblings, and Loki joins the GotG for wacky space hijinks, okay?

He pleased Thanos in many shameful, foul ways, but he did not kneel. Thanos was a sadistic tyrant, he was not a king. Not a god.

Summary
Only a mage driven to insanity burns their own tissues for seidr.
Loki had far too much experience to know that madness is just one desperate act away.
Stripped of the body he'd always known, Loki is bound in his true form, that of a frost giant runt barely on the cusp of adolescence. Yet no one knows what lies under the false image of the disgraced second Prince of Asgard, certainly not Thor.
Loki would not survive the truth of his lineage being uncovered, but Odin still has use of his stolen relic.
However – weak from months in Asgard's dungeon after his near-death on Svartalfheim and Thanos' ministrations – Loki is stolen from Asgard's dungeons by Thor. As the only known wielder of two Infinity Stones, the Avengers hope to use Loki to uncover the reason behind their appearance on Earth. Especially in light of the Mind Stone taken form as their newest ally: the Vision.
But they are not the only ones who have use of a bound child mage.

It had been the hardest thing that he’d ever done. Harder than spending centuries reliving the same handful of hours in order to learn everything possible from O.B., Victor Timely, and even Casey. Harder than mastering his ability to timeslip and manipulate time.
The hardest part was leaving. Walking away from that door while Mobius and Sylvie begged him to stop. Unable to give them a proper goodbye or embrace them before he did what was necessary. Not only would they have tried to stop him, but he honestly didn’t know if he would have the willpower to continue if he allowed himself that small moment. It had been painful enough when he looked back near the end, seeing his friends watching through those distant windows, and knowing that he could never have that again.
Wrapping himself in those countless timelines filled with infinite lives that were now truly free. Ensuring the survival of everything at the cost of an eternity of endless solitude. That was the hardest part.
That was his great and glorious purpose. The king of everything and nothing. Bound to a golden throne by metaphorical chains of an impossible responsibility that he freely shackled to himself. Alone and guarding eternity without end.
