There’s a loud crash, and everyone’s attention instantly flicks over to Shang Qinghua standing off the side. He seems to have dropped some large platter of something - he should not be doing something so lowly as serving things, he’s not a servant any longer. But it is very typical of him to mindlessly reach out and start doing whatever unfinished tasks he sees before him, grumbling all the while as if someone is forcing him into it. Right now, he looks gobsmacked. Pale and wide eyed and gaping in shock, looking shaken to his core.
“Marriage!?” Shang Qinghua demands, his voice high and strangled.

Summary
When Stiles steps into the room that the Hale house has conjured for him to stay in, the first thing he sees is a window already open, letting in a pleasant breeze. The second is a door in the right-hand wall.
Laura clears her throat, scratching at her nose. “That leads to Derek’s room.”
Stiles’ eyebrows shoot up and a laugh bursts out before he can stop it. Now he understands how the pack knew this room probably wouldn’t belong to his dad (which, gross).
He looks over his shoulder at Derek who’s glaring pointedly at everything except for Stiles with pink-tipped ears.
“Presumptuous. I like it,” he says to the house, patting one of the walls and throwing a wink at Derek hovering in the doorway.

When the Hale pack transitions to a new Alpha, Stiles is thrilled to be assigned to Beacon Hills to try out as their new Emissary. He and his dad are immediately enamoured with the idyllic little town, fitting right in with the rest of the Hales – except for Derek. He did not dress like Linguang Jun did, or like the men he brought for Mobei Jun to kill. They all wore cleaner clothes, clothes that were more for show than use. The man who entered dressed as if he needed to move freely.
When he turned and saw Mobei Jun, his eyes widened and he took a step back in surprise. His hand clutched at the messenger bag that was across his torso and settled on his hip. His hair was tied back in a low bun and he looked somewhat sweaty, though it was cold outside. It looked as if he’d been running.
“Who are you?” Mobei Jun asked, voice cold.

Meanwhile, Mobei Jun does everything to try to find Shang Qinghua and after months finally manages to tear a portal into Shang Qinghua’s original world to bring Shang Qinghua back, only when they finally meet Shang Qinghua seems to not remember him or any of their past together. Mobei Jun grapples with the guilt and fact that he hurt the person most important to him throughout the story.
