“Well why don’t you just make a secret account to defend his honor if it means that much to you?”
Guy straightens up, eyes wide. Kendra takes one look at him and scrunches up her face like she’s made a grave, grave, mistake.

Summary
Michael wasn’t stupid. Far from it. Of course he knew the possibility of this tension building up and snapping was more than 0%. What he didn’t know, though, was just when, if at all, the rubber band would snap.
Leave it to Guy Gardner to look at him and go: “So are we gonna fuck, or what?”
AKA, Michael and Guy careen toward collapse. The results are better than expected.

Summary
Stepping up on his toes, Maverick throws the scarf around the back of Ice’s neck, wrapping it snugly around and making sure the ends are even on both sides of Ice’s chest. Mav’s hands briefly brush over Ice’s jawline, and they’re so warm it makes him dizzy.
To make matters worse, Maverick then shucks off his bomber jacket, throwing it over Ice’s shoulders and bringing it close to his chest. The inside of the jacket is toasty, and it smells like Mav.
“Are you sure?” Is all Ice can say.
Mav smiles up at him, the snow decorating his dark hair like glitter. “Of course. It looks good on you anyways.” He says, with an indecipherable wink.
AKA, Ice and Mav get caught in a blizzard on their way to Slider's for Christmas. Ice tries to deal with his feelings for Mav while trying not to freeze to death.

Summary
“Admiral Simpson!” Maverick calls, waving him over. “Thanks for coming.” He grins, leaning his elbows on the bar in an inviting stance. Cyclone can’t help but look him over, appreciating the way the jeans on Maverick fit him just so–
No. Not doing that.
He appreciates Maverick’s outfit in a completely straight and normal way. Taking the spot next to the other man, he takes care to plant his feet in a completely natural and normal manner.
“Maverick, thank you for extending the invite.” He says, like he rehearsed it fifteen times in the rearview mirror before leaving his car. “It’s good to see you.”
AKA, Maverick invites Cyclone to a night out at the Hard Deck. Cyclone is entirely normal about it.

Summary
Months after coming back from rehab, Frank finds that sobriety is the easy part - it's the whispers, the sideways glances, and the suffocating silence from people who once called him a friend that make every shift feel like a trial. He takes on night shifts in the hope that they might offer some kind of mercy. But the hospital doesn’t sleep, and neither does his mind. Shen notices - and more importantly, he stays.

Summary
The first time was an honest to god mistake. Adrenaline, relief. Wanting to get back at Guy for being insufferable.
The second and third time, too, were mistakes. The fourth was unfortunate. A decontamination shower gone haywire.
By the fifth time, Michael had started to run out of excuses.

Summary
“We do not take even our own observations quite seriously, or accept them as scientific observations, until we have repeated and tested them. Only by such repetitions can we convince ourselves that we are not dealing with a mere isolated ‘coincidence,’ but with events which, on account of their regularity and reproducibility, are in principle inter-subjectively testable.”
Popper, K. (1959). The Logic of Scientific Discovery. Harper & Row.
Or: Michael can still love, it turns out.
