    Summary

Months after coming back from rehab, Frank finds that sobriety is the easy part - it's the whispers, the sideways glances, and the suffocating silence from people who once called him a friend that make every shift feel like a trial. He takes on night shifts in the hope that they might offer some kind of mercy. But the hospital doesn’t sleep, and neither does his mind. Shen notices - and more importantly, he stays.

    Summary

The first time was an honest to god mistake. Adrenaline, relief. Wanting to get back at Guy for being insufferable.

The second and third time, too, were mistakes. The fourth was unfortunate. A decontamination shower gone haywire.

By the fifth time, Michael had started to run out of excuses.

Not any of the particular times they hooked up but the lead up, the consequences, and the Mr. Terrific-grade refusal to acknowledge anything remotely romantic (and in turn, traumatizing their local Hawkgirl).

    Summary

“We do not take even our own observations quite seriously, or accept them as scientific observations, until we have repeated and tested them. Only by such repetitions can we convince ourselves that we are not dealing with a mere isolated ‘coincidence,’ but with events which, on account of their regularity and reproducibility, are in principle inter-subjectively testable.”

Popper, K. (1959). The Logic of Scientific Discovery. Harper & Row.

Or: Michael can still love, it turns out.
